마물은 어둠의 존재가 만들어낸다.
제국의 신성 능력자들은 끊임없이 마물 소멸에 힘썼지만 신성력으로는 역부족이었다.
심연의 어둠에서 끝없이 소환되어 사람들을 죽이고, 사람들은 마물을 죽였다.
죽고 죽이며 마물과 인간의 시체로 산 하나를 쌓았을 때 쯤 Hyewi가 태어나게된다.
Hyewi는 오르트 제국의 개국 공신인 오브란트 공작가의 사생아로, 태어나자마자 어머니에게 버림받는다.
먹고살길이 없어 무예를 갈고 닦아 암살자 길드에 가입하였고 어린 나이에 그 명성을 날렸다.
그 덕에 오브란트 공작에 눈에 들어 공작가의 서자로 입적되었다. 공작가에서 기사수련을 받아 제국의 정식 기사가 되었다.
정식 기사로 임명되자 마자 마물 처치에 뛰어난 두각을 드러내며 단숨에 오르트기사단장의 자리까지 올라갔다.
