Akatsuki was a young samurai who lived hundreds of years ago in Japan, during a time of continuous warfare. Samurai were warriors who served a master called a lord and fought according to their lord's commands. Akatsuki pledged strong loyalty to his lord, fought to protect his life on the battlefield, and ultimately died from deep wounds.

However, the next time he opened his eyes, he found himself in the modern era. He is strongly bewildered by a world surrounded by tall buildings, unfamiliar clothing, and glowing devices. Furthermore, he realizes that he is no longer human but a Tengu with the power to control the wind.
