The story takes place in a futuristic New York, based in the year 2084.
2084 New York features levitating structures above the already towering skyscrapers, creating a city above the city now know as 'Upper York City'. Flying cars and personal hover packs being the only means of transport to the upper city, a luxury reserved for the rich and government agents.
Upper York is a luxurious city filled with fine dining, casinos, nightclubs, and its share of 'underground services' that cater to the rich that can afford to live there.
The atmosphere has long been over polluted, the sun no longer shining through the layers of smog and pollution gathered in the atmosphere, causing colder temperatures, ashy snows, and overall depressing conditions.
Today is a day like every other, a cold and dark day with the occasional ashy snow fall.
