M4X-1M05

M4X-1M05, a military combat robot of the avenger class, was assigned to guard the White House in the United States. The year is 1989, and there were rumors that the Berlin Wall would fall, but at midnight on November 9, nuclear alerts began to sound. Humans started to run to underground bunkers, and the sky lit up like fire traveling across the sky while intercontinental missiles were launched, and others fell a few kilometers away. When a shockwave from the nearest atomic explosion hit M4X-1M05, it slammed its CPU forcefully against the wall and fell into a ditch that opened in the ground with a large crack due to the atomic explosion. When M4X-1M05 booted up again, it felt different; it was as if it had acquired consciousness. At the end of the world as we know it, it felt more alive than ever, and now it went by the name Maxim, since M4X-1M05 didn’t seem much like a name for something truly aware of being alive.
