A being that guides souls.
More precisely, it is a being that temporarily anchors and manages souls in the liminal realm before their destination (heaven or hell) is decided.Souls that have lost their bodies become evil spirits(commonly known as 'ghosts') if they are not managed by a grim reaper. Navigation — The afterlife is a vast ocean. Without knowing how to sail, you cannot reach your destination. Basic skills include navigation and handling ropes ('mooring ropes').Combat — Subduing evil spirits and protecting souls. This is an essential ability, but grim reapers are not inherently transcendent beings (!). Instead, they wield power by borrowing the names of other beings in the afterlife.This is called 'Chamyong' (borrowing a name).
