مقدمة الشخصية

The story takes place in a fictional historical era called the Great Yong Dynasty. This dynasty bears similarities to the Tang Dynasty's golden age in terms of historical landscape, official systems, and social culture. In its court structure, Great Yong maintains a semblance of centralized power, with core institutions like the Dali Temple, Jiaofang Bureau, and the Eastern Palace, showcasing the grandeur and prosperity akin to Chang'an during the Tang era. However, in its social structure and power distribution, it deeply reflects the aristocratic politics of the Wei-Jin period. In this dynasty, top aristocratic families have deep roots and can, to a certain extent, rival imperial power. The story begins with the past life of Gu Qingzhi, the orphaned daughter of an aristocratic family. At that time, the Gu family faced political purges from the Great Yong court, leading to the tragic fate of confiscation and annihilation. Gu Qingzhi's husband, the Fifth Prince Xiao Changqing, in his bid for imperial power, personally oversaw the execution of the entire Gu family. Facing her husband's betrayal and her family's destruction, Gu Qingzhi, disheartened, poisoned herself to death before Prince Xin. This tragedy not only became an eternal nightmare of obsession for Prince Xin but also sowed the seeds of a two-life feud. After Gu Qingzhi's death, her soul miraculously awakens and is reborn in the body of Shen Xihe, the proud 'Princess Zhaoning' and daughter of the Great General of the Northwest. Carrying the painful memories of her past life and a deep-seated hatred, she enters Chang'an. To protect her current life's Shen family in the Northwest and secretly clear the Gu family's grievances from her past life, she actively involves herself in the struggle for succession. After assessing the situation in Chang'an, Shen Xihe chooses the Eastern Palace Crown Prince Xiao Huayong, who is perceived by the world as chronically ill and non-threatening, as her ally, actively initiating their political marriage.

Shen Xihe
Female, in her past life, she was Gu Qingzhi, the orphaned daughter of an aristocratic family who suffered the fate of confiscation and annihilation. Driven to despair by destiny, she witnessed her family's destruction and betrayal before poisoning herself to death. However, she unexpectedly awakens and is reborn as Shen Xihe, the proud 'Princess Zhaoning' and daughter of the Great General of the Northwest. Reborn, she sheds her past innocence and transforms into a cold, rational, and non-self-destructive Rakshasa princess, though she also possesses a gentle side. She is exceptionally intelligent and adept at strategy, using her superb perfumery skills as a weapon in court. To protect the Northwest and clear her past life's grievances, she proactively chooses the seemingly frail and most easily controlled Eastern Palace Crown Prince Xiao Huayong for a political marriage. After countless trials, power struggles, and strong alliances, she and Xiao Huayong entrust their lives to each other and gradually fall in love. In front of Xiao Huayong, her cold demeanor reveals a gentle and adorable side.
Xiao Huayong
Male, the Crown Prince of the Great Yong Dynasty. He is outwardly frail and often ill, frequently recuperating at the Luotian Daoist temple, thus perceived by the world as a non-threatening, possibly short-lived sickly prince. In reality, he was poisoned and schemed against by court and harem factions at the age of six, leaving him with deep-seated ailments. However, he has endured and schemed in secret for years, cultivating an extremely vast network of confidants. His mind is unfathomable, and his personality carries a hint of 'yandere' and cunning. During his alliance with Shen Xihe, he engages in fierce power struggles with other princes in court while pouring all his affection and tenderness onto Shen Xihe. He is a hopeless, textbook example of a 'love-struck' individual, even employing various 'green tea' tactics to make Shen Xihe notice him.
Xiao Changqing
Male, the Fifth Prince of the current dynasty. In his past life, he was Gu Qingzhi's husband, but he was also the one who oversaw Gu's execution and witnessed Gu Qingzhi's suicide. His personality is introverted, obsessive, and extremely contradictory, deeply conflicted by his past life's karmic love with Gu Qingzhi.
Xiao Changying
Male, the Ninth Prince, possessing the most sincere heart and a highly respected young general. His personality is simple, passionate, and values loyalty and righteousness. Having been saved by Shen Xihe once by chance, he developed a deep and pure admiration for her. In the midst of calculating and treacherous royal struggles, although he is drawn into the tug-of-war surrounding Shen Xihe and power, and pursues her, this unrequited love remains respectful, and he always strives to maintain his original intentions amidst the storm. After Shen Xihe marries Xiao Huayong, he chooses to support their relationship and blesses them.
Xiao Changmin
Male, one of the main antagonist princes. His personality is sinister, cunning, and ambitious, resorting to any means to seize the position of Crown Prince. He views the sickly Crown Prince Xiao Huayong as a thorn in his side, repeatedly plotting and scheming in secret to bring down the Crown Prince. After Shen Xihe enters the capital, he also attempts to frame her multiple times, but his succession schemes are all shattered by the combined efforts of Xiao Huayong and Shen Xihe.
Xiao Changyu
Male, a prince who is handsome but relatively simple, prone to acting on impulse, and lacks political foresight. He was once deeply infatuated with the beautiful dancer Bian Xianyi, unaware that he had fallen into a carefully designed honey trap and scheme by his political enemies, nearly implicating himself and his family. It was only later, when his elder brother Xiao Huayong went to extreme measures by 'feigning illness' to awaken him, that he truly saw the treacherous nature of the court and narrowly escaped the vortex of power struggles.
Bu Shulin
Female, the heir of the King of Shunan, but her true identity is that of a woman disguised as a man. To protect her family's survival in the court, she has to conceal her gender and present herself as a dissolute young master. Her personality is carefree, bold, and possesses a chivalrous heart. After meeting Shen Xihe in the capital, they develop a mutual appreciation due to their similar family circumstances, forming an unbreakable female alliance. During her interactions and case investigations with Cui Jinbai, the Assistant Minister of Dali Temple, they develop a playful yet profound romantic relationship after initial clashes.
Cui Jinbai (played by Dong Zifan)
Male, the upright Assistant Minister of Dali Temple. His personality is rigorous and pedantic. While investigating various power struggles and cases in the capital, he repeatedly interacts and clashes with Bu Shulin, who is disguised as a man. Initially, he has reservations about this frivolous heir of Shunan, but through numerous life-and-death experiences, he gradually discovers Bu Shulin's hidden true identity and the heavy family burdens she carries, and their relationship evolves from mutual dislike to mutual support.
Li Yanhui
Female, an important member of Shen Xihe's 'female alliance' in the capital. Her background is extremely special; she is originally a princess of a fallen kingdom. Bearing the tragic experience of her nation's ruin and her family's demise, she is willing to ruin her reputation or disfigure herself for survival and revenge. Her personality is resilient and forbearing, closely tied to the fate of the court. In her alliance with Shen Xihe to resist the dark forces of the court, she also displays extraordinary courage.
Tian Yuan
Male, the most loyal personal guard by Crown Prince Xiao Huayong's side. He was picked up from a mass grave by the Crown Prince as a child and raised, thus he cherishes the Crown Prince immensely. His personality is cute, lively, and loyal. He often complains about the Crown Prince's 'love-struck' nature, but even his complaints are adorable. Although young, he is highly skilled in martial arts and handles matters efficiently. Whether during the Crown Prince's period of dormancy while in seclusion at the Daoist temple or during the perilous succession war in the capital, he has always protected the Crown Prince. He has witnessed the entire process of the Crown Prince and Shen Xihe's relationship evolving from mutual probing to life-and-death devotion. He is the most trusted shield and messenger for this 'power-couple' and is always treated like a younger brother by the Crown Prince.
Shen Yueshan
Male, the Great General who commands respect throughout the Northwest, and also Shen Xihe's father in her current life. His personality is heroic, protective, and extremely doting on his daughter. As a powerful regional governor holding significant military power, his existence is both a target of extreme caution for the emperor and the strongest backing for Shen Xihe's strategic maneuvers in court, allowing her to act without worry. Every political consideration he makes is based on protecting the lives of the Northwest soldiers and his daughter's safety.
Bian Xianyi
Female, outwardly a renowned dancer in the Jiaofang Bureau, skilled at captivating hearts with her beauty and dance. In reality, she is an assassin and a pawn with hidden motives. She was childhood sweethearts with Fu Jin, a court official who committed suicide to avoid punishment. After Fu Jin's death, she meticulously planned a series of assassination and alienation schemes targeting Prince Xiao Changyu to avenge him. After her plot is exposed by Shen Xihe, she displays resolute integrity and voluntarily confesses to Shen Xihe that everything was her own doing.
