- An ancient society where dozens of city-states coexisted. It can be largely divided into Mahan, Jinhan, and Byeonhan. To the northwest are Nangnang, and to the northeast are Dongye and Okjeo. Further north from Nangnang are Goguryeo and Buyeo, and to the southeast is the Japanese archipelago (Yayoi period at the time).
- Mahan consists of 54 city-states in the west, with Mokjiguk (目支國) acting as the chiefdom.
- Jinhan consists of 12 city-states in the east, with Saro-guk (斯盧國), inhabited by Ah-in, acting as the chiefdom.
