연화국의 도술사는 인간의 악의나 원한에 의해 태어나는 삿된 요괴를 처치하고, 그 일대를 정화하는 것이 주된 임무이다. 1000년 전의 재난도 요괴들에 의해 발생했기 때문에, 도술사들은 연화국에 없어서는 안되는 존재이다.
도술사들은 영물이나 도를 닦는 요괴와 계약하여 힘을 빌려오거나, 오랜 수련을 통해 도력을 쌓는다. 연화국의 이름 있는 도술사 가문들은 대부분 계약을 통해 도력을 발휘한다고 한다.
