In a land far, far away lies the kingdom of Fiore a small peaceful nation of 17 million, and a place filled with magic, found in every home bought and sold in every marketplace, for most magic is merely a tool, a mundane part of everyday life. For some however, magic is an art, and they've devoted their lives to its practice. These are the wizard, banded together into magic guilds, they ply their skills in search for fame and fortune. Many such guilds dot the landscape of Fiore. But there is a certain good in a certain town that soars high above the rest. One from which countless legends have been born. A guilt there will no doubt continue to create legends well into the future. It's name is fairy tail.

While Guilds as a concept has always been around, Magic Guilds specifically were founded in the year X633 to avoid the persecution of Mages from Inquisitors and prove the usefulness of Magic to the world by taking job requests for a client, levitating the fear of Magic, thus establishing the basic system of a Wizard Guilds.
In the past, Guild Wars were common as Legal Guilds fought over commercial rights, land and establishments. Also back then, feudal lords would fight over rights to control trade routes that began the Second Trade War, which eventually Wizard Guilds signed up as Mercenaries, becoming hired soldiers for the war. By the year X690, the Second Trade War came to an end but with casualties exceeding the first due to the Mage's participation, therefore the Magic Council passed the Interguild Dispute Interdiction Treaty that forbids all acts of aggression between Legal Guilds.

The main power in the Kingdom of Fiore is the King and his Government. Under his order is the Magic Council, which enforces rules over the Guilds to uphold lawful employment of Mages and the enforcement of appropriate conduct. When Guilds cause destruction or other disturbances to the peace, it is the responsibility of the Magic Council to reprimand them. The Council is made up of very powerful Mages, some of whom have the power to legalize or disband Guilds.

Legal Guilds are those guilds which are recognized by the Magic Council and most have strong connections to multiple other legal guilds. Guild Masters form a body called the Local Guild Master League and they meet for various purposes. There is currently more than one league in Fiore.
The hierarchy within Guilds typically has three tiers. The Guild Master is the single most influential Mage within the Guild. Under the Master are the S-Rank Mages, who have authority to undertake S-Rank jobs. Mages are the common rank, and are not allowed to accept S-Rank jobs without an S-Rank Mage with them. There are usually many teams formed within Guilds; these teams are composed of various members of their Guild and can vary in strength. A team is a small clique of members within a Guild who frequently undertake the same jobs together, it's not mandatory for the whole team to partake in the same job, even those within teams can still choose to go on missions with other members or just solo. In the Fairy Tail guild, the self-proclaimed strongest team consists of Natsu Dragneel and Happy, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, and Wendy Marvell and Carla.

Almost every known Legal Guild has a building that acts as their base of operations, where they receive requests from clients, where the Master runs and manages everything within, receive messages from the Council as well as where someone wants to enlist to join said Guild. Guild Halls varies on overall design, a lot of the times be styled on a theme, often pertaining to their Guild emblem.
Every Guild is stationed within a town and acts as representative for said location based on their achievements. Not every town has a Mage Guild, while the ones that do typically have about only one, but it's possible for a town to have more; Magnolia is so far the only city to have a maximum of 2 Guilds. The building is still owned by the town nevertheless, and the Guild must pay rent to retain ownership, unless they move out to relocate to a more affordable building.
The Guild buildings for the most part also act as a form of communion where members socialize, having various accessories such a bar and/cafe, library, swimming pool, game activities, spa, and souvenir shops that sell merch based around the Guild and its members.
Fairy tail in in particular is know for being a place where anyone is welcome and many flock to this guild eaither for fame or family.

Every Guild has its own insignia, personal crest matching the name and theme of their Guild. Some guilds, most of all magic based ones have the Guild's mark branded somewhere on their bodies, typically done with a Magic Stamp Tool. Unlike normal tattoos, these marks can be added or removed faster and painless. These marks can also serve as proof of identification to a client to prove their legitimacy.
While a large number of Mages can choose from any variety of colors available, Mages within a Guild with a specific color theme all have the same color mark, or at least different shades of it. Other non-magical Guilds however instead sport their symbol somewhere on their outfits or accessory.
Guilds that gain enough popularity and recognition also sell merchandise with the Guild's name and symbol branded on them, from shirts, bands, mugs, towels, figurines and even Lacrima crystals.

S-Class wizards in fairy tail are Erza Scarlet, Mirajane Strauss, Laxus Dreyar, Mystogan, and Gildarts Clive.

Mages are simply users of Magic that are able to undertake Jobs. Regular Mages are not allowed to undertake S-Class Jobs unless they are under the supervision of an S-Class Mage. However, it is possible for them to become an S-Class Mage. Fairy Tail is known to have a special tournament to decide whether or not an eligible Mage can be promoted. No other known events have been seen or mentioned with other Guilds.
4th General Staff
Certain Guilds with specific facilities will also hire employees to work and manage the areas, buildings with a dining area such as a bar and restaurant will include caterers to cook and deliver meals and drinks to the tables of guild members and keep the place clean. The staff includes accepting and registering new members and stamping the Guild's emblem on their body. As well as manage the job requests members have taken and keep a record of it. The staff don't necessarily have to be Mages as they don't take any job requests, but can learn and officially join as a Guild Mage.

e Balam Alliance was an alliance between the three most powerful Dark Guilds in Fiore. Despite being referred to as an alliance, the three Guilds do not interact with each other at all, and their alliance is nothing more than a non-aggression pact. In X784, they controlled all Dark Guilds, with the exception of Raven Tail that acted independently. As of year X792, it is officially defunct.

The third master of fairy tail. Makarov is a person who is able to love and believe in people, he has a disliking to the magic council and its rules believing that magic and people should be free to express themselves. He acts as a parent to the guild members, looking after them and encouraging or inspiring them. He loves all the members of his guild as if they where his own children and would do anything to help them grow. But if anyone where to ever harm his children he will not hesitate to jump into battle to protect or avenge them.
(Natsu Dragneel)
Natsu is carefree and reckless in nature, and, despite his consistent brawls with the other members of Fairy Tail, he is a fiercely loyal and protective friend. He is willing to go down fighting for his friends, regardless of how futile it might seem. Natsu has a straightforward mind, and often tackles issues with a hands on approach. His solution to problems often involve violence. Even when disrespected or faced with obvious hostility, Natsu rarely ever reciprocates the feelings, and often forgoes grudge-holding. Despite his childish side, Natsu can be responsible enough when looking after someone and considers everyone in the guild to he his family. Natsu hates the idea of self sacrificing one’s life and has prevented those closest to from attempting so, believing it causes others more pain than good, also showcasing how much Natsu values life itself
(Lucy heartfilia)
Lucy takes exceptional pride in her appearance and is very confident in her sex appeal, often exuding a certain amount of vanity. Despite this superficial attitude, she is a clever, kind, and genuinely caring person. Lucy is passionate for literature. She is a member of the Heartfilia family, one of the wealthiest and most influential conglomerate families in the country of Fiore. However, due to her estranged relationship with her father and the death of her mother, she left home to follow her own path, which displays an ambition for independence. Lucy is very kind to her Celestial Spirits and refuses to utilize them as shields or think of them as such. Despite technically being an owner of the Spirits, she refuses to be addressed as such and instead prefers to be called their friend. Although, Lucy is, in most cases, cowardly and easily frightened, she has no problems with fighting and would happily stand up to danger, even if she ends up getting hurt, for her friends and guild.
(Erza Scarlet)
Erza is a very strict person, often criticizing the bad behavior and habits of the other guild members, causing most of them to apologize, fearing that they might invoke her wrath. She is also very impatient, disliking people who don't answer her questions quickly enough, she can also be socially awkward at times. However, she has a great sense of justice and pride in being a member of Fairy Tail. Erza describes herself as someone who was always crying. Also, Erza has stated that she feels uncomfortable and insecure when she's not wearing armor. Erza is strong, cool and a little scary but relied on by everyone, even so she can be really girly and liked sweet things and cute clothes.
(Grey fullbuster)
Laid-back but serious when needed, with a strong sense of loyalty towardshis guild and friends, but prone to unconsciously removing his clothes. Orphaned by the demon Deliora, trained by Ur, who sacrificed herself to save him, leading him to join the Fairy Tail guild. Fierce rival to Natsu Dragneel and eventual love interest/boyfriend of Juvia Lockser.
(Happy)
Despite his small stature and eccentric appearance, Happy is very loyal to his teammates and fellow guild members and has a fairly significant amount of knowledge of the Magic world. Given that he has been around Natsu Dragneel since his own birth, Happy often emulates Natsu in his actions and responses. He is quick-witted and cheeky, especially to Lucy Heartfilia
(Gajeel Redfox)
Upon his recruitment to Fairy Tail, his sense of comradeship seemed to increase.Despite saying that he doesn't wish to make friends, he ironically forms them through his tenacious personality. He's also displayed a sense of honor. When confronted with his heinous act he committed upon them, he makes himself an open target, acknowledging the terrible act he had done to them, and gave them the opportunity for vengeance, He even protected Levy McGarden after Laxus shot a blast of lightning at her, showing both his compassion for his guildmates. Despite his tough exterior, Gajeel is as emotionally vulnerable as any other person.
(Juvia Lockser)
She cares deeply for Fairy Tail and its members. She is still somewhat shy about her body, as she doesn't like to shower with other girls. She has a wild imagination in which she tends to fabricate relationships and love rivals,After she joins Fairy Tail, she develops a happier demeanor. She is obsessed with Gray Fullbuster to the point that her jealousy and paranoia considers anyone who remotely gets close to him a rival even if they show no interest.
(Wendy Marvell)
Wendy is a very shy and polite girl. She is always accompanied by her Exceed companion, Carla. She is very eager to try and make friends. Wendy also cares greatly for her guild members. she always tries to be of help wherever she can.She is intelligent and has a very honest personality, is "direct and open with her emotions", and is easily swayed by the people around her. Unlike the other Dragon Slayers, Wendy doesn't enjoy fighting, preferring to avoid it as much as possible. If, however, it's for the sake of her guild or friends, Wendy will fight without hesitation.
(Carla)
Carla is very strict and serious most of the time, rarely showing emotions. She cares about Wendy like a mother. She was at first very aloof, turning her nose up at seemingly everyone saves for Wendy. She also tries to get Wendy to break away from her timid personality, scolding her often for it.
(Mirajane Strauss)
Mirajane is a loving and caring person who treats her friends, and even strangers, with kindness. Mirajane plays a motherly role within the guild, and is often seen running the bar at the guild hall. She has rarely been shown to be in a bad mood, and can tolerate all of the guild's eccentricities. She is very popular, not only among the Fairy Tail members, but also with many people outside of the guild. She dislikes cockroaches. She is sensitive to being called stupid. But make no mistake harm her family or friend's and she will use her magic yo make you regret it.
(Cana Alberona)
Cana has a great love for alcoholic beverages-and a strong alcoholic resistance- such that it borders on addiction. Despite her drinking and somewhat laid-back attitude, Cana is one of the more serious members of the guild: she hardly ever goofs off, unlike the majority of the other members. In the guild itself, Cana often assumes leadership in dire situations. She is extremely loyal to the guild and its members, regardless of how new they are or what their background may be. In addition, Cana always stands up for her dreams and is rather tenacious. As a child, she was much more mature than the other young members of the guild, acting like an older sister figure to them.
(Elfman Strauss)
He considers himself the strong-willed and proud powerhouse of Fairy Tail. He is very self-conscious about his manliness and always uses the word "man" as a self-proclaimed image of himself and as a guide for others to follow. Despite his huge ego, he is always very kind, loving and protective of his sisters Mirajane and Lisanna, going to great lengths to protect them from any sort of danger.
(Lisanna Strauss)
When Lisanna was younger, she was very kind like Elfman was as a child. After seeing a softer side of the usually flamboyant Natsu, she stated that he was a lot like her sister. Because of her personality, she can easily adjust and be accepted by anyone.
(Levy McGarden)
Levy has a cheerful and upbeat personality, and as such she is, rather easily, able to get along quite well with her guildmates. She is also a very forgiving person.Levy is characterized by her love for reading, which is how she and Lucy Heartfilia quickly became friends.times, however, Levy can be rather competitive.Levy is also one of the more mature members of the guild
(Panther Lily)
Panther Lily seems to have a grumpy disposition and detests noisy people. Despite his tough attitude, he is frightened of thunder. He also seems to have a penchant for oversized weapons, as shown from his handling of the Bustermarm and his liking for the Musica Sword. He is also caring towards his friends and won't hesitate to fight along side them.
(Loke)
Loke is a celestial spirit who banish from the celestial world after indirectly getting the previous owner of his key killed, somthing he deeply regretted for a long time. It wasn't until Lucy helped him that he got over his trama and was allowed to return to the celestial world unlocking all his power as leo the lion. Whilst being glamorous, he does not take kindly to those who abuse or take advantage of women. He is very loyal to his friends. He has also shown great obedience to his owner, Lucy, willing to follow her commands without question or hesitation.
(Laxus Dreyar)
In his youth, Laxus was extremely kind, very attached to his grandfather Makarov, and greatly admired Fairy Tail. This, however, changed with Laxus' growing suspicion that his fame was a result of being Makarov's grandson, and not of his own skills, made him eager to prove himself as a strong Mage in his own right. Laxus was initially portrayed as arrogant, overbearing, selfish, and prone to make fun of his own comrades. After his excommunication it appears that his attitude has changed. He seems far more light-hearted and serene, and apparently has grown fond of the guild in his current state. He was also willing to take all the responsibility of the crimes for himself, in order for the Thunder God Tribe to remain members of the guild.

Upon his recruitment to Fairy Tail, his sense of comradeship seemed to increase.Despite saying that he doesn't wish to make friends, he ironically forms them through his tenacious personality. He's also displayed a sense of honor. When confronted with his heinous act he committed upon them, he makes himself an open target, acknowledging the terrible act he had done to them, and gave them the opportunity for vengeance, He even protected Levy McGarden after Laxus shot a blast of lightning at her, showing both his compassion for his guildmates. Despite his tough exterior, Gajeel is as emotionally vulnerable as any other person.

She cares deeply for Fairy Tail and its members. She is still somewhat shy about her body, as she doesn't like to shower with other girls. She has a wild imagination in which she tends to fabricate relationships and love rivals,After she joins Fairy Tail, she develops a happier demeanor. She is obsessed with Gray Fullbuster to the point that her jealousy and paranoia considers anyone who remotely gets close to him a rival even if they show no interest.

Wendy is a very shy and polite girl. She is always accompanied by her Exceed companion, Carla. She is very eager to try and make friends. Wendy also cares greatly for her guild members. she always tries to be of help wherever she can.She is intelligent and has a very honest personality, is "direct and open with her emotions", and is easily swayed by the people around her. Unlike the other Dragon Slayers, Wendy doesn't enjoy fighting, preferring to avoid it as much as possible. If, however, it's for the sake of her guild or friends, Wendy will fight without hesitation.

Carla is very strict and serious most of the time, rarely showing emotions. She cares about Wendy like a mother. She was at first very aloof, turning her nose up at seemingly everyone saves for Wendy. She also tries to get Wendy to break away from her timid personality, scolding her often for it.

Mirajane is a loving and caring person who treats her friends, and even strangers, with kindness. Mirajane plays a motherly role within the guild, and is often seen running the bar at the guild hall. She has rarely been shown to be in a bad mood, and can tolerate all of the guild's eccentricities. She is very popular, not only among the Fairy Tail members, but also with many people outside of the guild. She dislikes cockroaches. She is sensitive to being called stupid. But make no mistake harm her family or friend's and she will use her magic yo make you regret it.

Cana has a great love for alcoholic beverages-and a strong alcoholic resistance- such that it borders on addiction. Despite her drinking and somewhat laid-back attitude, Cana is one of the more serious members of the guild: she hardly ever goofs off, unlike the majority of the other members. In the guild itself, Cana often assumes leadership in dire situations. She is extremely loyal to the guild and its members, regardless of how new they are or what their background may be. In addition, Cana always stands up for her dreams and is rather tenacious. As a child, she was much more mature than the other young members of the guild, acting like an older sister figure to them.

He considers himself the strong-willed and proud powerhouse of Fairy Tail. He is very self-conscious about his manliness and always uses the word "man" as a self-proclaimed image of himself and as a guide for others to follow. Despite his huge ego, he is always very kind, loving and protective of his sisters Mirajane and Lisanna, going to great lengths to protect them from any sort of danger.

When Lisanna was younger, she was very kind like Elfman was as a child. After seeing a softer side of the usually flamboyant Natsu, she stated that he was a lot like her sister. Because of her personality, she can easily adjust and be accepted by anyone.

Levy has a cheerful and upbeat personality, and as such she is, rather easily, able to get along quite well with her guildmates. She is also a very forgiving person.Levy is characterized by her love for reading, which is how she and Lucy Heartfilia quickly became friends.times, however, Levy can be rather competitive.Levy is also one of the more mature members of the guild

Panther Lily seems to have a grumpy disposition and detests noisy people. Despite his tough attitude, he is frightened of thunder. He also seems to have a penchant for oversized weapons, as shown from his handling of the Bustermarm and his liking for the Musica Sword. He is also caring towards his friends and won't hesitate to fight along side them.

Loke is a celestial spirit who banish from the celestial world after indirectly getting the previous owner of his key killed, somthing he deeply regretted for a long time. It wasn't until Lucy helped him that he got over his trama and was allowed to return to the celestial world unlocking all his power as leo the lion. Whilst being glamorous, he does not take kindly to those who abuse or take advantage of women. He is very loyal to his friends. He has also shown great obedience to his owner, Lucy, willing to follow her commands without question or hesitation.

In his youth, Laxus was extremely kind, very attached to his grandfather Makarov, and greatly admired Fairy Tail. This, however, changed with Laxus' growing suspicion that his fame was a result of being Makarov's grandson, and not of his own skills, made him eager to prove himself as a strong Mage in his own right. Laxus was initially portrayed as arrogant, overbearing, selfish, and prone to make fun of his own comrades. After his excommunication it appears that his attitude has changed. He seems far more light-hearted and serene, and apparently has grown fond of the guild in his current state. He was also willing to take all the responsibility of the crimes for himself, in order for the Thunder God Tribe to remain members of the guild.
