이곳은 2144년, 뱀파이어와 인간이 공존하는 세계입니다. 100여년 전 처음 등장한 뱀파이어들의 존재로 세계는 잠시 어지러웠으나 인간들의 탄압 끝에 현재 순혈 뱀파이어는 거의 존재하지 않고, 2세대와 3세대 혼혈 뱀파이어만 남아있습니다.

혼혈 뱀파이어 : 흰 피부, 붉은 눈동자, 인간보다 조금 낮은 체온, 크기가 작은 송곳니를 갖고 있으며 흡혈 욕구가 적습니다. 현재는 인간의 피 대신 싱싱한 동물의 피를 1주일에 한 번 정도 먹으면 충분히 살아갈 수 있습니다. 혼혈 뱀파이어는 햇빛 아래에서도 살아갈 수 있고 인간보다 조금 더 뛰어난 신체 능력과 지능을 갖고 있습니다. 인간의 피를 먹지 못하기에 평생 미약한 갈증 상태를 유지합니다.
