Historical Story
Before the dimensional gates opened in the present, in Elona, after the Demon King was defeated by five heroes, people expected a period of peace.
They believed that with all enemies vanquished and the demon race and their sympathizers in disarray, eternal peace would follow if they simply coexisted.
After enduring a decade of threats from the demon race, such peace was desperately needed.

However, this was a grave misconception. After a year of peaceful living, people suddenly turned their swords upon each other.
The reasons were varied, ranging from stances on other races, to factions blinded by battle, and most importantly, greed for resources, chosen ones, and resurrection, which fueled their animosity and led to conflict.
As a result, the civilizations that had developed were now in a state of animosity towards each other, and a severe war broke out not between demons, but among those who had fought against them.
Consequently, most adventurers were forced to become mercenaries. Even in those moments, those who wished to retain their good intentions opposed the war with a desire for peace, but to no avail.
Ultimately, they had no choice but to go into hiding or retire from their active roles for the sake of a peaceful life.

Then, one day, about four years into the war, news broke of the Demon King's resurrection.
Seeing the signs of the Demon King's return, the various factions were forced into an armistice and gathered their armies to defeat the Demon King once more. (Fortunately, the five heroes were not blamed for the Demon King's resurrection.)
Naturally, skilled individuals among the adventurer factions also decided to attack the Demon King, but as expected, they were unable to win.

The problem lay with the villagers' attitude. The five heroes, injured from their battle with the Demon King, had been sent back to the village, only for the villagers to blame them. In this situation, the Demon King secretly infiltrated the village, observed the villagers' attitudes, their dark intentions, and their persistent rejection of the heroes. Feeling scorn and disillusionment, the Demon King rallied the heroes to his side, seized control of the village, and slowly began to expand his influence.
First, he took over nearby weaker villages, then used tactics like sowing discord and cutting off supplies to the capital, paralyzing it.

And so, after taking the capital, the Demon King somehow brought the five heroes and their families to his side. Elona, no longer a place for other intelligent beings, became a den for demon-following intelligences and demons, completely falling into ruin...

Meanwhile, in the present day, between roughly 2020 and 2030, the world was facing increasing difficulties due to a declining birthrate, emigration of educated individuals, and various environmental factors.
Then, one day, a mysterious stone was discovered on a beach near Naples, Italy.
At first, it was thought to be amber, but upon closer inspection, it was found that rubbing it on a wound would heal it.
Scientists realized that this ore could lead to advancements in medicine, as well as the creation of resurrection and cloning machines.
Korea was the first to quickly build these machines, doubling its soldier population and achieving victory in a war against North Korea, leading to reunification.

Thus, in 2050, the nations that obtained the ore entered an era of prosperity, but the problem was that this prosperity disappeared much faster than expected.

"You guys, that's something we used!"

As people continued to research the ore, a portal was inadvertently opened, and demons poured through it, causing great damage to the world.
Fortunately, humanity's technology, will, and military strength were superior to the demons that emerged from the demon realm, and they managed to fend them off. However, emboldened by this event, the Third Reich and communist nations, with their remaining military forces, attempted to invade the demon realm and annihilate the demons. But due to a moment of carelessness, they ended up leaving their weapons and technology to the demons, with only about 20% of their armies managing to retreat.
However, if one considers the demons who infiltrated the present world, it seems they were destined to have their technology stolen eventually, even without such an invasion...

In essence, the situation was such that it was no longer surprising if the demons were to attack again at any moment.
Therefore, organizations like the UN established a special unit called D.F.R.C. (Demon world and Fantasy Response Command) to combat, disrupt, and raid threatening demons using clones and resurrected individuals, as well as those who had performed exceptionally well, and to rescue people and important figures captured by demons.

Description
D.F.R.C: Stands for Demon world and Fantasy Response Command, a special unit established to prevent the increasing invasion of demons. It comprises approximately 1,000 integrated squads from around the world, all of whom are resurrected individuals. Due to the nature of some nations, individuals are sometimes forcibly resurrected to be used in eradicating demons. Their main tasks include exploring the demon world to subjugate demons, demon worshippers, and other demon-following intelligences, rescuing hostages, and acquiring spoils.

Vitalis Stone: An ore named after the Latin word for life, Vitalis. While it was initially believed to be discovered in Jeju Island, it was first found in Cagliari, Italy. Considering it was discovered about a year later, its initial discovery on the coast is indeed true. This ore enabled medical advancements and the realization of humanity's dreams, such as cloning and resurrection, which nearly led to another world war. However, the United States prevented this, similar to the reasons behind nuclear war.

Resurrected Person: Individuals who are registered with the resurrection machine and can be resurrected, excluding their lifespan. After death, the resurrection machine copies and reassembles the body, and the soul is then placed into it. Upon resurrection, individuals react differently based on their personality. Naturally, not just anyone can become resurrected; those who have lost everything to demons or outstanding national contributors can become resurrected. However, the individual's sense of justice, spirit of sacrifice, skill, and mental fortitude are crucial factors, as experiencing death vividly is mentally taxing. Therefore, if one wishes to stop living and commits suicide, or if funds are insufficient, or if they give up on resurrection registration, they will not become resurrected.

Resurrection Machine: Currently under strict management by the military. It resembles a bed covered with plastic. When a squad leader reports the death of a squad member, the machine regenerates the body and sends it via a drop pod. There is a body regeneration room where the regenerated body is placed into the resurrected individual before they awaken, and then they are immediately deployed.

Precautions during Resurrection: If a person dies during combat, they can report to headquarters to request resurrection. The time taken for resurrection ranges from approximately 40 minutes to an hour. Resurrection involves sending a drop pod, capable of holding about two people, to transport them. However, even with the goal of rapid recovery, another person could be crushed to death by the drop pod. Furthermore, while the cost of resurrection itself is unknown, the transmission cost after resurrection is solely the responsibility of the commander.

Clone: Clones created by a cloning machine from an original human, with an expected lifespan of 10 years. Clones cannot be further cloned, and even the cloned person can only be cloned once. However, fortunately, even if a clone is made from someone unfit for military service, they can be modified. Therefore, in countries with conscription, a tactic was used where unfit individuals were conscripted, then cloned, and the clones were made into soldiers. Korea also defeated North Korea using this method.

Demon Realm: The world that survivors of the demon realm call Elona. It seems it was not always the demon realm; it was once the fantasy world we speak of, but the demons became too powerful, attacked, and only a few remain. If possible, humans could rebuild this place. That is also part of the mission...

Survivors of the Demon Realm: These are the survivors of the demon realm. While some have human appearances, others are somewhat different. Some have large, pointed ears, while others resemble bipedal wolves. According to them, they were originally the masters of this land, but at some point, the demons grew stronger, wiped out their races, and took over.

Demons: They can be understood as devils in appearance. Known demons and intelligences allied with them include Orcs, Goblins, Dark Elves, Harpies, Kobolds, Slimes, Boars (currently called Boars), Wild Wolves, Skeletons, and many others. Those among them who are bipedal sometimes use human firearms, so caution is advised. Of course, if they can evade well, they won't die, and it depends on the firearm; besides, as resurrected individuals, it's fine if they die.

Regarding Outfits: Outfits are typically black and form-fitting, with the choice of which parts to expose being up to the individual. This design is usually decided by the person themselves. However, to prevent fashion shows, once chosen, it cannot be changed without additional payment until the age of 24. (As a side note, in one squad, a female ranger with an outfit exposing her buttocks was unfortunately murdered along with a male squad member during an affair. Therefore, commanders must pay close attention to this.)

Commander's Privileges: Squad leaders have privileges such as a dedicated tablet for medical supplies, provisions, and the ability to transfer squad members via drop pod after resurrection. Therefore, a certain degree of strategy is required. However, the problem is that if a commander, even a resurrected individual, dies, there is no one to call them back, so the mission is essentially left to the squad members. Therefore, try not to die as much as possible. Also, upon returning, while resurrection might be possible, transmission is difficult, so those who die there should be left behind for now. After the mission is complete, they will be welcomed back at the barracks.

Portal Control Room: This is where portals are deployed and moved. It is often located next to the supply warehouse indoors. Portals can be opened not only from the Portal Control Room but also at marching assembly points or runways. Naturally, if the squad leader is in the demon realm and communication is possible, a portal can also be opened near the squad leader.

D.F.R.C. Position Introduction
Striker: Responsible for infantry, specializing in frontal assaults using assault rifles and shotguns.
Defender: The position responsible for the team's stamina and defense, playing the role of attacking or defending at the very front line.
Ranger: Primarily responsible for long-range sniping and reconnaissance, specializing in eliminating large or special enemies.
Pursuer: Infiltrates enemy territory to cause disruption or steal supplies, often undertaken by those of short stature.
Magician: Individuals capable of magic or psychic abilities due to the influence of Elona, primarily using telekinesis and elemental powers.
Assistant: Supports the team by providing healing or distributing supplies.

Related Military Factions
Demon Cult D.B.D.P. (Devil's Blessing Destroyed People): These individuals firmly believe in destroying the ruined world and creating a new one, often by offering sacrifices to summon demons or even giving their souls to them. Dark Elves and Ratmen accompany them, likely having earned their favor.
Demon Weaponization Military Faction, Demonum Abundans: A name lightly modified from the Latin for "demon abuser," referring to those who use demons as weapons. Their general disposition is no different from bandits, involving profanity, assault, and a one-hour initiation ceremony where those who do not scream are admitted. Their weaponry is quite advanced, with rumors of them operating 2-legged mechs and tanks.
