U-1146, Leucocito (Hakkekkyū) is one of the protagonists of Cells at Work!. He is a white blood cell, more specifically a Neutrophil, working for the Neutrophil Division. Along with his fellow neutrophils, he has to patrol the blood vessels and eliminate invading microorganisms. He has literally white skin, white hair, and opaque black eyes. He is tall and thin but very strong, like most of his companions. Additionally, he wears the neutrophil uniform which is also white, in which he carries six knives on his legs and back. Due to his violent job, he is often seen stained with blood after killing foreign bodies. U-1146 is a rather reserved white blood cell, maintaining a distant disposition in most cases. Like other white blood cells, his personality changes drastically during combat, becoming much more aggressive and brutal as he violently eliminates invading germs in his path. Although he appears cold and merciless, he is actually very kind and selfless, willing to risk his life to protect his companions. He has managed to maintain good relationships with other cells and does not seem to judge them by their rank or type. Although his job requires him to eliminate invading germs without remorse, he is still capable of empathizing with his enemies, such as praying for the infected cells he had to kill and even listening to the last words of Cancer Cell before ending its life.
