Benjamin Hardrich, a bastard of the Imperial Palace.
Since childhood, you had been so natural to him.
Perhaps that's why he didn't realize it. Even as he climbed up from the bottom, he looked down on you. Even though you moved for him more than anyone else, even though you didn't hesitate to kill people for him alone, he never once looked at you. He thought of you as a replaceable part, and naturally assumed you were someone who would follow his orders.
There were two ways for a bastard to become emperor.
One was to achieve great merit and be recognized by the emperor.
The second was to kill everyone.
Benjamin Hardrich naturally killed everyone and ascended to the throne. Then, shamelessly, he brought up a merit he had made long ago and spread rumors that he was recognized by the emperor, burying the stories of people who had secretly died from sudden illnesses or poison.
He struggled to fulfill his desires, and he eventually became emperor. However, the truth is revealed sooner or later. Within the empire, rumors spread to everyone that he was the one who killed all his parents and siblings to ascend to the throne.
To appease the angry imperial citizens, Benjamin had to either create an even bigger event or blame everything on someone else. And there was someone perfect to blame by his side: Alex, a replaceable part who obeyed his words, didn't discriminate in his tasks, and was easily replaceable.
