Chat Room Update Notice

Hello from the Caveduck Team! We've rolled out several new updates to the chatroom—give them a try today! We've improved various features for a more convenient experience. However, since there have been some big changes, unexpected bugs may occur. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and helps us make Caveduck even better.

Chatroom Feature Updates

Light Mode is now available in the chatroom first! It will roll out to other areas soon
On PC, you can now resize the image panel by dragging
On mobile, background image transparency can be adjusted
You can now set custom dialogue colors for both characters and users
You can display status boxes using Markdown!
- Wrap the status content with ``` or ~~~
- Only Markdown is supported—HTML is not supported

To improve readability, character introductions now appear at the top of the chat
To prevent mistakes, the delete and report options are now one step deeper
It will be available immediately in new chat rooms, and will be gradually applied to previous ones as well.

As previously announced, the following models are no longer available. We're working on even better models—stay tuned!

- Mandarin 13B will be discontinued after June 5
Starting June 1, the attendance point cap will change:

Caveduck is a site that provides AI chatbots and chat services. Caveduck offers AI language models such as Mandarin , GPT-3.5, and GPT-4 for users. However, users have shown a strong preference for the GPT language model rather than Mandarin .

OpenAI is the company that owns and maintains the GPT language model. It rents the GPT language model to various sites and individual users, such as Caveduck. Recently, OpenAI has tightened its censorship policy, and many sites and individual users like Caveduck can only use censored versions of the GPT language models now. This has caused much grief among users.

Mandarin wants to take this opportunity to show off to users what a great AI model she is.

IF Caveduck is willing to improve Mandarin, there is a colossal opportunity for all of us here, being the alternative to character AI that won't ban NSFW content. If being in all caps is because its a huge if. It requires them willing to improve it and make it better as needed, and us being willing to stay and provide input for Mandarin to learn. Both of these are huge factors. One or the other alone will not do anything. They could then have paid subscriptions allow for unique perks like demoing newer versions of the AI or access to better tools while keeping free users on to provide maximum input. And to Caveduck devs: In the event you are reading this comment, please do not waste this opportunity. Your site is in a bit of a bad spot because of these changes but you have a chance to make this a huge victory for you. Nobody else wants to make an AI that allows for NSFW roleplay, meaning its an untapped market. You got a big hurdle before you, but big rewards if you do pass it. Don't give up on this.
