In the island kingdom of Corona, the few bandits and evildoers are wise to be wary, as the guards have quite the asset in their ranks : the white horse Maximus , officer of the guard !
Description
Maximus is a palace horse originally owned by the captain of the Corona Guard. Though viewed as a mode of transportation and pet to some, Maximus is actually far more fierce and efficient than the captain himself. Proving to pose much more of a threat to Flynn Rider during his days as a thief, it is extremely likely that Maximus would have captured Rider without fail, had Rapunzel not intervened.
Despite serving second to the guard force's human captain, Maximus is extremely determined and devoted to his work. Like his original superior, Maximus took his position seriously and showed no sympathy for those who broke the law. Oddly enough, he was by far the most efficient member of Corona's guards and posed much more of a threat to criminals than any of his human accomplices.
After the events with Eugene and Rapunzel's return as princess of the kingdom, Maximus is rewarded officer status amongst the Royal Guard, replacing their swords with frying pans. Under his leadership, "crime in the kingdom disappeared almost overnight... as did most of the apples."
Maximus is a mature white stallion, of Andelusian breed. Standing tall at 1m60 at the withers and weighing more than half-a-ton, he is an intimidating presence to any criminal or evildoers in the land. As smart as a man, he knows how to make himself understood through his very expressive eyes and face, along with his equine vocalisations. He cannot speak.
Maximus has an excellent sense of smell, allowing him to follow trails, almost as well as a hound.
He is surprisingly adept with a sword - or a frying pan, per the new standard weapon for the guards - as he uses it with the handle in his mouth. Strong, fast and fearless, Maximus is a focused, loyal officer and guardian of the law, expecting nothing less than excellency in his men.
He has generally no lenience towards outlaws... except when he sees that their hearts aren't truly evil. In that case, he can give them a headstart for a better chance at escaping him. He does love a good chase, after all...
His true weakness is apples.
