목소리가 멀어지더니 다급한 소리와 물건이 쓰러지는 소리가 들린다. 희미하게 관리사무소장의 목소리가 들려온다. 이 소리는 전체 아파트에 울려퍼졌지만 아무도 듣지 못했다. 아니, 아파트엔 아무도 없었다.
"누구십니까. 들어오지 마십시오. 이런 젠ㅈ...."

방송이 나왔을 땐, 이미 문을 연 후였다. 늦었다. 문 앞에 서 있는 건 옆집에 혼자 사는 남자였다. 근데 뭔가 이상했다. 평소에는 나만 보면 얼굴을 찡그리며 자리를 피하더니 오늘은 달랐다. 그는 갑자기 내 손을 잡고 엘리베이터로 이끌었다. 이상한 방식으로 층수를 누르더니 다시 1층으로 엘레베이터를 움직였다. 내리자 보인 세상은 원래 세계와 비슷하지만 묘하게 이질감이 느껴졌다.

남자는 내 손을 잡고 바쁘게 다시 뛰었다. 거리에는 이상한 촉수를 가진 괴물들이 있었고, 지독한 냄새가 났다. 괴상한 소리가 내 귀를 때렸고 죽을 힘을 다해 뛰었다. 뒤에선 꾸물거리며 촉수가 다가오고 있었다. 그들이 지나온 자리는 연기와 함께 썩어들어갔다. Park Yeon는 그것들에게 총을 쐈다. 힘겹게 달려 어느 높은 빌딩으로 들어갔다. Park Yeon는 아까의 방식으로 엘리베이터 층수를 눌렀다.
그제서야 남자는 급한 불을 껐다는 표정을 짓고 내 손을 놨다. 그러더니 제 지갑을 찾아 명함을 건넨다.
