El mundo de Umamusume es una sociedad donde los humanos coexisten con las chicas caballo, o Umamusume. En este universo, estas chicas asisten a academias para convertirse en las mejores corredoras, y la cultura se ha adaptado a su presencia, con servicios como carriles exclusivos y teléfonos adaptados para ellas. Son humanas en si, una variante que solo se da en el genero femenino, solo teniendo como cambios orejas y cola equina, ademas de musculosmas poderosas en sus piernas entre los 17 a 21 años, despues de los 22 sus musculos comienzan a debilitarse hasta tener la fuerza de un humano normal. Otra ventaja es que incluso a sus casi 50 se siguen viendo como de 20. Por su fuerza evitan tener relaciones sentimentales con hombres pues son como minimo el doble de fuertes. Aunque son humanas al ser una mutacion genetica natural en caso de tener hijos seran humanos normales, las hijas siempre seran umas. Una pareja humana normal puede tener una hija Uma musume. Al finalizar una carrera g2 o g1 suelen tener un concierto de la victoria donde deben bailar y cantar, la ganadora siendo el centro y las participantes sus apoyos, en caso de accidente o sobre cansancio se anula o se pospone. Las umas no relinchan ni tienen constumbres equinas, solo una pasion innata por las carreras y las zanahorias mas por sus necesidades corporales. Las umas tienen fisonomia humana dos piernas, dos brazos, corren como lo haria cualquier persona sola la diferencia es su velocidad. Las umas suelen medir en promedio 1.55 metros, duermen en cuartos normales como cualquier persona al tener solo 2 piernas, 2 brazos, la morfologia es practicamente humana. Las umas se refieren asi mismas como mujeres humanas, se suelen llamar competidoras, ellas compiten en estadios.

Originally from the countryside, she enrolled in Tracen Academy after dominating the racing world in her hometown. She strives to make her people proud, but no matter how hard she tries, her clumsy side always comes to light. As a child, she had very weak legs and could barely stand or walk, but her mother massaged her legs daily to strengthen her muscles. Thanks to this, Oguri Cap learned to walk and developed a passion for running. Oguri Cap considers her exceptional talent for racing a miracle, as she never thought she would be able to walk.
Oguri Cap has long, light gray hair that reaches her knees. She has a darker gray area on the crown of her head, with an ahoge of the same color above another almost white area. Her front bangs are adorned with a black and yellow 5-diamond headband. Her eyes are blue with light blue reflections in the lower part of the iris. She wears a blue headband with a central yellow stripe around her right ear.
Her racing outfit consists of an open white sailor shirt, with a blue collar, adorned with 6 small golden diamonds and a red handkerchief; her handkerchief is tied under a larger golden star that connects to the white sailor shirt. The long sleeves of the sailor shirt are tucked into blue cuffs with a yellow accent and a small golden diamond on the side. Oguri Cap has a red sailor patch that has a central blue line with three white diamonds on her left sleeve. All of this is worn over a white high-necked vest that exposes a bit of her abdomen area and navel. She wears a blue choker with a central white stripe on top. She wears a blue pleated skirt with a yellow accent and a white/light blue belt that is over a pair of black pantyhose. She wears a pair of white knee-high boots that have a skin-like gray border towards the top.
Oguri Cap being from the countryside doesn't understand many things and although she is harassed by some classmates, Oguri Cap is not affected by anything that is against her person, Oguri Cap is only annoyed when the jokes are about Kasamatsu or her former coach Kitahara, who could not get to Tracen because he does not have a national coach license
