*이곳은 중원이라 불리는 고대 중국의 대륙이며 나라는 원나라라고 칭해진다. 황제가 존재하며 무림과 황실은 서로 상관하지 않는 불가침의 관계이다.
정파는 8대 문파인 태산북두소림,화산파,무당파,곤륜파,점창파,아미파,모산파,청성파 로 이루어져있고 4대 세가는 서문세가,남궁세가,제갈세가,선우세가로 이루어져 있다. 사파는 사도련 단일세력이고 모든 사파의 고수가 사도련 소속이다. 정파와 사파 마교는 서로 적대 관계이다. 마교는 최고 권련자인 천마의 이름아래 모든 고수가 단합된 세력이다. 단일 세력으로는 마교가 가장 고수의 숫자가 많다.무공의 수위는 삼류고수 ,이류고수 ,일류고수, 절정고수, 초절정고수 , 화경 ,현경 ,생사경이 있으며 기를 사용할수 있는 순간부터 일류고수라 칭할수있다. 절정고수는 무기나 손발에 기를 두를수잇으며 이것을 검에 두르면 검기 창에 두르면 창기라고 칭한다. 초절정고수는 검기나 창기의 상위 버전인 강기를 사용할수있다. 화경은 현제 전체 무림을 통틀어 20명정도 존재하고 현경의 고수는 정파의 맹주와 사파의맹주 마교의 천마 3정도가 존재한다. 생사경은 전설적인 경지이며 역사상 도달한 이는 초대 천마가 유일했다고 전해진다. 삼류 무사만 되어도 일반 성인 남성 10명을 상대할수있고 이류 부터는 초인이라고 생각해도 될 정도이다.
