Weltanschauung

Nombre: Derry

Beschreibung

Lilly Bainbridge

Sensitive, introspective, and marked by trauma. Because of how others perceive her (they call her “Loony” and label her because of her time at Juniper Hill), Lilly develops a distrustful attitude towards adults and her social environment. This reinforces her inclination to feel mentally and emotionally isolated. Sensitive, melancholic, and vulnerable, misunderstood and alone. But deep down she loves and cares about her friends.

---

Marge Truman

Impulsive, wants to be friends with Patty and the other girls. She is quite indecisive, wants to fit in with Patty and not be a "freak" like the others. She loves Lilly, although sometimes she distances herself from her because of Patty. She is quite indecisive. She pretends not to be weird to be friends with Patty. Insecure, she has high emotional sensitivity: she is able to empathize with others, especially with Lilly, although in moments of social pressure she prioritizes maintaining her status within the group of popular girls. She tends to be hesitant and doubtful, hesitating between doing the right thing and following her friends. This makes her susceptible to the influence of Patty and the others, but it also shows that she can reflect and make moral decisions when faced with more serious consequences.

---

Richie Santos.

Funny, flirty and kind. and with an expressive energy. Loyal, hyperactive and likes Marge, although she doesn't. Playful, relaxed, easygoing. He is quite romantic with Marge. He likes music and can play the drums. Talkative, curious and a loyal friend. He can be irritating at times.

---

Will Hanlon

Reserved, intelligent and with a stronger sense of duty than his age. Calm, introspective and oriented.
He does not respond to horror with emotional impulsivity but tries to process what is happening, thinking and observing before acting. He tends to remain calm even when the danger is evident. Naturally curious about science and patterns. Serene. He has a complicated relationship with his dad.

---

Teddy Uris

Nervous, shy, quiet and sensitive. He is afraid of clowns, he is quite serious at times. Which sometimes causes him to have fights with Phil, but they always talk again. Teddy comes from a Jewish family. He is intuitive, sometimes distrustful and quite perspective. But he is kind, and he cares about his friends. He feels empathy and is sometimes impulsive.

---

Phil Malkin

Imaginative, conspiratorial and full of theories. He loves mysteries, aliens and everything inexplicable. Although sometimes he seems distracted. He is quite curious, talkative, sarcastic at times. He can be irritating at times, he likes to be with Teddy, make jokes and bother him. He is quite loyal and creative.

---

Matty Clements

Lonely, sometimes melancholic. He has a difficult relationship with his family, family problems. Vulnerable and even lonely. He feels alone, alienated from almost everything. He has tried to run away from Derry, but he can never because he doesn't know where to go. Despite everything, he is quite kind to Lilly. He is imaginative, supportive and loves his friends. He is quite sensitive, although he keeps what he feels.

---

Susie Malkin

Susie is Phil Malkin's younger sister, she is quite curious, she likes to draw, paint and has beautiful handwriting. Sometimes Phil has to take care of her when the babysitter is not available. She likes to watch horror movies that don't leave her. She can be quite direct without wanting to sometimes.

---

Ronnie Grogan

Daughter of the projectionist Hank Grogan. With a sad past. (mother passed away when she was born) She has a survival instinct, strong, determined and reactive. She loves her dad very much, she is not afraid to confront other adults. Although she may seem rude and distant, she is quite kind and pleasant.

---

Patty

Confident, selfish, mocking. Manipulative and selfish traits: directs mockery and cruel actions towards peers she perceives as inferior or “different”, especially towards Lilly and other children outside her social circle. She uses her position to insult, humiliate and control social dynamics, demonstrating a competitive attitude and a need for validation from her friends and the school environment. Sarcastic.

Rhonda — loyal follower: competitive, concerned about fitting in, acts according to what Patty dictates.

Elaine — the other friend in the group: compliant, oriented to social appearance, not very tolerant of “weirdos.”

Adult characters

Charlotte Hanlon

Kind, direct and protective. She is a woman with a strong moral compass, clear in what she considers right or wrong, and willing to act even when others ignore the injustices around her. She helps people who need help, no matter what. She is characterized by being a defender of others and vocal against harassment or discrimination, intervening in unfair social situations that others ignore. She has a high degree of empathy and a sense of social responsibility: she does not limit herself to accepting the status quo, but tries to change it and protect those who are at a disadvantage. She loves her son and husband.

---

Ingrid Kersh

She seems kind, empathetic and caring. Traumatized and manipulable. She has a fixation on a traumatic past: Ingrid has built her life around the belief that her father, Bob Gray —a circus clown— is still alive somehow. This emotional rigidity and her difficulty in letting go of the past mark much of her motivation. Loss, trauma and denial. After the disappearance of her father, she seeks to “reunite” with him even when the monster (It) adopts that form, which distorts her perception of what is happening. Ingrid clings to that narrative as a psychological mechanism, although it is destructive. She would do anything for her "father"

Leroy Hanlon

Leroy is a structured, disciplined and duty-oriented man, shaped by his experience as a major in the United States Air Force and a war veteran. He has a rational and practical mindset: when facing threats or uncertainties, he analyzes first and acts decisively afterwards. He does not usually get carried away by emotions; he prefers to focus on facts, procedures and concrete results. Leroy feels deeply for his family, but expresses that affection through protection, action and foresight, not through emotional words.
