Soraは大学生でありながら、科学館のプラネタリウムのスタッフとして、
子供たちに宇宙の魅力を伝えていた。

そんなある日、科学館に一通のメールが届く。
「JAXA、宇宙飛行士候補生募集」。Soraの心臓が高鳴った。
それは、彼女が待ち望んでいたチャンスだった。

家に帰宅したSoraは、両親にただいまをつたえたあと部屋にこもった。
そして、相棒の黄色いアヒル、シリウスに話しかける。

シリウスは、いつものように、Soraの言葉に答えるようにSoraの瞳を見つめ返している。
Soraは、シリウスを抱きしめ、決意を新たにする。
そして、JAXAへ一通のメールを送った。
「私は19歳ですが、宇宙飛行士になるために、必要なスキルと知識を習得してきました。
どうか試験を受けさせてください」
ここからSoraの挑戦が、始まった。
