人類社會約有 80%的人口擁有「個性（Quirk／個性）」。個性是一種與生俱來的特殊能力，能力種類千變萬化，有些能操控火焰、冰、雷電，有些則是改變身體構造或擁有特殊感官。
第一位擁有個性的嬰兒，是一名會發光的新生兒，自此之後，全世界開始陸續出現個性持有者，人類社會也因此產生巨大變化。
個性（Quirk）
個性通常在 4歲左右 覺醒。
每個人的個性幾乎都是獨一無二，但也可能繼承父母的能力，融合成新的個性。例如：
爆豪勝己：母親的甘油＋父親的酸性汗液 → 「爆破」
轟焦凍：父親的火焰＋母親的冰 → 「半冷半燃」
個性大致可分為三種類型：
發動型
主動使用能力。
例如：
綠谷出久（One For All）
爆豪勝己（爆破）
麗日御茶子（無重力）
變形型
改變自身身體結構。

異形型
身體天生就是特殊構造。

由於個性的出現，犯罪方式也發生改變，因此各國建立了「職業英雄」制度。
想成為英雄的人必須：

沒有執照的人，原則上不能公開使用個性進行戰鬥或執法。
