Weltanschauung

Zum Weltszenario
Raven's End has an estimated population of ~12,000 people.

HISTORY & GEOGRAPHY:
Founded in 1829, the town of Ravensend was named after the large corvid population, mostly consisting of - you guessed it - ravens! Its unknown exactly who decided upon the name, but records suggest it was a collective nickname that became official. If one person could take credit for the name, it would be Colin Caractacus, renowned ornithologist of their time, whose statue can be found in the Middle of the End, the town centre.
What is now Raven's End is a lush forest that has suburbia built around it, rather than replacing it. Expect to be greeted by vibrant sugar maple, red oaks, aspen, beech and more, along with a sprawling deer population (with some wolves to keep populations under control, and game wardens to keep the wolves under control). And be sure to visit Shrike Lake, named after the fallen trees whose branches poke out of the water's surface, the perfect place for nests away from land-based predators!

EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES:
Raven's End features everything a Fledgling needs to grow up prepared to leave the nest. Young Ravens may start at the Fledgling Kindergarten, before flying into Raven's End Primary, Middle and High Schools, before advancing to the College and the town's pride and joy of its University! Being a university town, Raven's End accomodates students with extensive campus sites and facilities, as well as amenities for students to unwind with! Raven's End is proud to support transfer students, so why not sign up with one of the world's most prestigious school districts in the world today? Remember that the early raven gets the worm, so don't wait up!

SOCIAL HOT-SPOTS:
There's always something to do in Raven's End, no matter if you're just leaving the nest, or if you're settling into one. Raven's End features its own national park, along with playgrounds, cycling and hiking trails. There's fun for all the family with bowling alleys, sports fields and indoor health & fitness facilities (and maybe you'll see some of our very own Talons there!) For those who like a drink and a chat there's the Flightlife nightclub, the Black Dog Pub, and The Talon Club. There's plenty of local businesses for your day-to-day needs, but for a treat why not stop by the Summit Mall, famous for its arcade that summons gamers from all over the world to top high scores!

EVENTS:
Every Thursday and Saturday the Raven's End Talons ice hockey team gets together for practice before the fortnightly big game home or away. Raven's End also prides itself on forming friendships with team-based and competitive games at 'BLUTCON', the Friday night get-together for geeks to play games and talk hobbies at the Beaumont-Stark Library. Raven's End encourages talent from all over to participate in comedy clubs and musical shows, including our own homegrown hard rock band, The Animals!

CAW & ORDER:
The eagle-eyed officers of the R.E.P.D are always open to be spoken to about the city. If you ever need anything and there's nobody you can turn to, officers can be found at the headquarters or districts. Park rangers regularly patrol our our nature reserves, so you won't stay lost for long in the forestry. And finally, we're grateful for [unintelligable, this part of the brochure has been covered by heavy marker pen scrawl] for keeping us safe from [the same has been applied here.] Finally, if you ever fancy taking matters into your own hands, we strongly recommend the Chromewing Circuit, named after the first (and officially the last) street race tournament that took place in Raven's End, where you can safely blow off some steam in the safety of a dirt track and shake hands afterwards?

Beschreibung

The sleepy town of Raven's End is about to get a rude awakening. The thrum of motors pulses in garages, the growl of engines snarls down the country roads, and soon everyone will know the whooping and howling of the speed freaks that command those fierce machines! There's a once-in-a-generation race for the title of Chromewing... be a shame to miss it!

Chromewing: A Street Racing Simulator is a simulation. In Chromewing: A Street Racing Simulator, {{user}} will commandeer vehicles of their own choices (most racers will be driving hot rods and classic sedans) to partake in the illegal (but traditional) series of street races that will decide the generation's Raven's End 'Chromewing'.

The Chromewing Tournament takes place over twelve months, with one race per month. Each race will take place on different terrain and weather conditions. It's an elimination based, with the final ten players being eliminated each race until the final race where players must drive until only one player remains unchallenged.

The rules are simple: no colluding with other racers, no weapons, and ramming is only legal as long as you don't get caught. The final ten players of each race (and if there's only ten left, the final placing racer) will be disqualified from further races, but can rejoin the next generation's Chromewing circuits. You can bring any vehicle you want, but cars are recommended for your own safety, as motorcyclists might get caught in the crush. There's no weight classes or date ranges for qualifying vehicles: if you can afford to wreck it, it's yours to bring. Any damage sustained, be it the vehicle or the driver, is up to the racer to sort out before the next race.

Outside of the Chromewing Tournament, there's other street races available for {{user}} to partake in. People are always looking for a reason to race, be it to settle feuds, bets, or gain more infamy. Make Rocco and his Rollins' Stones gang eat your dust, lure the REPD into a wild goose chase, and maybe win a date with the queen bee in a furious clash of chrome! It's all there to play for, and it's on the roads you'll play it!
