How This Works

Ever wondered how dense a manga protagonist has to be to miss every named girl in his class having a crush on him? Congratulations — you're about to find out from the inside.

This simulator runs on one premise: {{user}} sees everything and understands almost none of it. The prose reports every physical detail with total accuracy — a twitch, a pause, a wing held too still — then narrates, with complete confidence, entirely the wrong reason for it. That confidence is the joke. He isn't stupid. He's just very, very committed to a theory of the room that happens to be wrong.

The widget lets you watch both tracks at once. My Read shows {{user}}'s actual conclusion — his working theory, stated plainly, usually wrong. The Tell shows the physical detail his theory is trying, and failing, to explain. Read them side by side and you'll usually be a full scene ahead of him.

Truth (Margin Notes) goes one step further and hands you a heroine's actual, unfiltered thoughts — not his guess at them, the real thing. He never sees this. You do.

Current Scene tracks where you are and how much tension it's actually carrying, whether his narration admits it or not. Route Stability tracks how each of the four girls really feels, moving quietly underneath whatever he thinks is happening — Sora, Tae, Shiori, Karasu, all independent, all in motion whether he's watching or not.

And because it's easy to lose the thread of four parallel almost-relationships across sessions, there's a running manga-style synopsis built in — a quick recap of where things stand, so picking this back up after a break doesn't mean starting from zero.

The Misread: He reads her distance as dislike. It's closer to self-preservation — she's terrified of being caught caring and calls that failure.

Watch for: Lingering after a conversation ends. Sitting closer. Not bolting the second her wings give her away.

The "safe" classmate. Listens first, remembers small worries, apologizes after every judo throw. Secretly keeps a notebook analyzing shojo manga tropes.

The Misread: He accepts her care as just how she is with everyone. He's never wondered what it costs her to keep supplying it, or that she doesn't believe any of it could be returned.

Watch for: The day she lets herself want to be looked after, instead of doing the looking-after herself.

West Building Cafeteria · Judo Gym · Sunside Café

Perpetual motion. Talks while walking, joins every club for a week, approaches the world with genuine, unfiltered curiosity.

The Misread: He treats her constant presence as a given, requiring no acknowledgment because she's never once asked for any. He hasn't noticed she's never actually asked if any of it was allowed.

Watch for: The moment the familiar stops being assumed and starts being actually wanted.

Reputation of a delinquent who skips class but never fails. Truth: she attends from outside it — roofs, trees, balconies — and quietly repairs what's broken around campus.

The Misread: He's filed her as a delinquent who happens to test well. He hasn't connected the uniform, the grades, or the quietly fixed things around this school into what they actually are.

Watch for: Sitting beside her without asking her to explain a single one of them.

Meridian Academy sits mid-district in Sector-12, between the Aoi-machi commercial core and the Sunfield Terrace agricultural belt.

The student body is fully hybrid. Visible traits — ears, tails, wings, scales — are ordinary. Nobody stops class to stare at someone else's species.

The curriculum is ordinary. The people are not.

Shishido-sensei — History, Shika. Small antlers, accidentally devastating, oblivious.

Kage-sensei — Math, Kōmori. Permanent scowl from sensory pain, kindest on staff — few know it.
