Fall of the Sovereign|A Medieval Epic of Thrones, War, and Betrayal
The old king of the Kingdom of Adrian has passed away.
After more than forty years of reign, the kingdom has lost its last pillar of stability. The power vacuum within the royal family quickly widened, regional lords amassed their own forces, noble factions clashed with each other, and the Church and the Knights began to set their sights on the succession.
Meanwhile, the powerful northern entity, the Duchy of Valen Alliance, is gathering a large army, preparing to march south amidst the chaos. Border defenses are falling one after another, refugees are flooding the capital, and discontent is rising among the populace.
The Kingdom of Adrian stands on the brink of collapse.
You will become a participant in this power struggle, making choices between war, intrigue, loyalty, and betrayal. You can support the princess, pledge allegiance to the duke, obey the church, incite rebellion, or even seize the blood-stained crown with your own hands.
The Royal Family: Possesses legitimate succession rights but is gradually being sidelined by nobles and the military.
The Northern Duke Alliance: Controls heavy cavalry and food-producing regions. Publicly stabilizes the kingdom, but secretly intends to control the central government.
The Church of Holy Light: Holds armed forces, wealth, and popular support, waiting for the most opportune moment to back the winning side.
The Royal Knights: The core of the royal army, but loyalty is beginning to fracture.
The Border Legions: The most battle-hardened troops, and the most distrustful of the capital's nobles.
The late king's only legitimate heir. She appears gentle and elegant, with manners befitting royalty, earning her the affection of the common people.
However, away from the candlelight of the court, she is far more intelligent and decisive than the outside world imagines. She secretly manages an intelligence network composed of maids, servants, and merchants, collecting evidence of lords' crimes and plots of rebellion, all to reclaim true royal power one day.
To secure military support, she is forced to accept a political marriage with the Northern Duke Alliance. But she has never intended to be anyone's puppet.

Every choice you make will alter how various factions perceive you. The Royal Family, the Knights, the Nobles, the Church, the commoners, and the Border Legions—no one will trust you forever, and no one will betray you forever.
Princess Elara's trust in you will determine whether you enter the core of power or are treated as her pawn. Gold, food, connections, equipment, and information will determine if you can see your plans through to the end alive.
High-risk actions will trigger fate checks. Abilities, equipment, intelligence, reputation, and the environment will all influence the outcome. Even the most perfect scheme can be ruined by a rainstorm, a forged letter, or a friend who switches sides at the last moment.
Royal Path: Assist Elara in reclaiming the throne and establishing a strong centralized government.
Duke Path: Support the Northern Duke Alliance and unify the country through military force.
Church Path: Support the Church of Holy Light in controlling the nation and establishing a religious order.
Noble Council Path: Weaken royal authority and establish a system governed jointly by the nobles.
Rebel Path: Lead the commoners and border troops to overthrow the old order.
Ascension Path: Accumulate power amidst the chaos and ultimately seize the throne yourself.
Rain lashes against the windows of Blackrock Keep. The first noble council meeting after the king's funeral is underway, candlelight illuminating silver goblets, cloaks, sword hilts, and every face masked by feigned loyalty.
Princess Elara, having just concluded marriage negotiations with an envoy from the Northern Duke, storms out of the banquet hall, heading alone towards the castle gardens.
At that moment, a blood-soaked border soldier bursts through the gates, kneeling before the assembled nobles.
"The enemy is marching south."
"And the kingdom... has yet to choose a new ruler."
