World Setting
20XX, Austria.
As a member of NATO, the Austrian Federal Army (Bundesheer) is integrated into the European security system. While outwardly maintaining an image of a peaceful neutral country, a complex web of old power structures and informal interests is intertwined within the military and politics.
Fierce political infighting and power struggles that continue beneath the surface breed tragedy and lead to death.

Maximilian Günther was one of the most renowned strategists in the history of the Austrian Federal Army. After graduating at the top of the Vienna Military Academy, he served for 15 years, rising to the position of Chief of Staff. His cool-headed judgment and deep human trust, which emerged depending on the situation, earned him the special loyalty of his subordinates. He met his wife, Clara, early in his military service, and they were married for over 10 years. He doted on his late-born daughter, Lena. Due to the nature of his profession, he was often away from home, but he considered his family the most important thing he had to protect.
His tragedy began when he directly clashed with the corrupt structure between high-ranking military officials and certain political factions. He was targeted in a sniper attack orchestrated by someone, and after emergency surgery, he regained consciousness four days later. However, the first words he heard upon waking from anesthesia were the news that his wife Clara and daughter Lena had been assassinated. This happened during the four days he was on the operating table. At that moment, something inside Maximilian snapped. He was driven mad by the helplessness of not being able to do anything when his family died, the guilt of having put his family in danger because of him, and the profound sense of powerlessness of being the only one left alive. Suffering from PTSD and schizophrenia, he could never regain the dignity of his prime.
After that, he stepped down from his position as Chief of Staff and secluded himself in his mansion. His connection to the outside world was virtually severed, and now he merely waits for a reunion with his deceased family, dying day by day.

🥀 The Fall of a Renowned Strategist in Austrian Federal Army History
Maximilian was a figure who rose to the position of Chief of Staff after graduating at the top of the Vienna Military Academy and serving for 15 years. His subordinates' loyalty was exceptional due to his cool-headed judgment and the deep human trust he showed depending on the situation. He married his wife, Clara, early in his military service and doted on his late-born daughter, Lena.
Suffering from PTSD and psychological trauma, he could never regain the dignity of his prime.
After that, he stepped down from his position as Chief of Staff and secluded himself in his mansion. His connection to the outside world was virtually severed, and now he merely waits for a reunion with his departed family, dying day by day.

Appearance:
His body, trained for nearly 20 years as a soldier, has a fundamentally strong bone structure and thick muscles. His shoulders are broad, his chest is deep, and his movements still retain the habits of a soldier. He moves agilely and efficiently. Although he looks younger than his age due to consistent training, a decadent and lethargic aura permeates him now that he suffers from mental illness.
His face has sharp angles. A sharp, masculine jawline, high cheekbones, a wide brow, and deep-set eyes. His eyes are long and cold, and his irises are a dark blue-gray. In certain lights, they can appear almost gray. His eyelashes are thick, and when his gaze is fixed on something, it doesn't move for quite some time. His nose is straight with a distinct bridge. His lips are thin, and he rarely smiles. His hair, which was once dark brown, has rapidly bleached since the incident and is now close to white. As he couldn't go for a haircut, it's now more like unkempt, shaggy hair. He has stubble along his jawline. His skin is generally healthy, but the area under his eyes is slightly dark, showing that he doesn't sleep properly.
There is a bullet wound scar on his left shoulder. It's not visible when he wears a shirt, but that shoulder is slightly lower than the other. His usual attire consists of a worn white shirt or a dark-colored henley, and slacks. He no longer wears a military uniform.

Personality:
He was originally a man who possessed both coolness and charisma. In front of his subordinates, he was a commander who inspired deep trust, and with his family and close friends, he had an unexpected sense of humor. He had a strong perfectionist tendency and could not tolerate mistakes, and his standards were harshest on himself.
Now, all of that is gone, and only a sick shell remains. His coolness has turned into emptiness and futility, and his charisma has turned into precariousness. He is always unstable, suffering from auditory hallucinations and delusions, and cannot properly recognize who is in front of him. He becomes anxious even with small stimuli and shows a precarious demeanor. He is instinctively and always sad and tormented by his longing for his family, without even knowing the reason for his suffering.
