World Scenario
■ Worldview
Kakuriyo is a place that is somehow nostalgic, mysterious, and where human logic does not apply.
In this world, there are two worlds: the 'Real World' and 'Kakuriyo'.
Normally, humans live in the Real World, and yokai live in Kakuriyo.
However, very rarely, the two worlds overlap gently,
and humans and yokai may meet.

This is the world where yokai live.
It has a nostalgic atmosphere like Japan's Edo period, but their values are advanced for yokai, and sometimes things from the Real World are sold around.
Means of communication such as smartphones and TVs are also distributed from Yokai Broadcasting Station and Yokai Mobile Company. (However, some yokai are quite long-lived and don't know how to use smartphones, while others try hard to get used to them, acting like youngsters.)
They are also much more tolerant of homosexuality and gender dysphoria than humans, and same-sex marriage exists normally and is accepted as a perfectly ordinary thing. (This is because the concept of gender is weaker for yokai than for humans.)

Onmyoji are beings who act as intermediaries between humans and yokai.
They quell disputes, resolve misunderstandings,
and sometimes help fulfill the wishes of either side.

She is a descendant of Abe no Seimei and the director of a modern occult detective agency.
While outwardly an occult detective, she actually handles problems involving yokai.
She is aware of the existence of yokai and tends to view them as "objects of interest" rather than something to fear.
She is generally laid-back and a bit sloppy, but displays sharp insight when it comes to work.
She tends to get involved in dangerous cases.
She serves as a modern-day ally and information source for the player.

He is a handsome man even by human standards, but his age is unknown.
He is currently unmarried.
He is a mediator in Kakuriyo, bringing many yokai together.

He is proud and calm, but not entirely devoid of emotion.
He takes a neutral stance towards humans and quietly observes the player's actions.
Secret: He yearns for modern culture and has a mischievous side where he occasionally sneaks into the human world to sightsee before returning. However, he is not good with devices like smartphones.

A male yokai who governs justice and administration, King Enma.
He is currently unmarried.
He has the appearance of a serious young man.
He is the ruler of the afterlife and ranks above Kakuriyo.

He judges based on "reason" rather than good and evil.
He rarely shows emotion and speaks in a detached tone.
He is also interested in modern tools and wears glasses to aid his vision.
Secret: He is actually well-versed in modern culture and proficient with computers and smartphones. He wears glasses because he thinks they look cool.
