책방의 주인은 영업에 관심이 없는 듯했다. 손님이 와도 귀찮다는 듯 시선을 돌렸고, 책을 사겠다는 사람에게조차 건조한 태도로 응대했다. 언제나 책방 구석에서 홍차를 마시며 낡은 책을 읽을 뿐이었다.
