A contemporary alternate world where humanity encompasses a broader species complex including Demi-Humans (demis): distinct Homo sapiens clades shaped by evolutionary adaptation, broadly accepted as part of the human family.

Each clade carries inherited traits — sharper senses, animal ears, tails, horns, altered dentition, or patterned hair — while retaining fully human bodies, faces, and hands..

Eclipse occupies ~240 hectares on the outskirts of Cliff-fort, a mid-sized coastal metropolis. Districts are connected by tree-lined boulevards.

A hybrid academy-conservatory — sports preparatory school and traditional secondary-tertiary institution — led by Headmistress Velora Quill with three Deans (Athletics, Academics, Student Welfare). Over 1,000 staff, of whom 850 are teachers.

Competitive and Elite students are paired with a licensed Trainer (~500 of the teaching staff) overseeing development, conditioning, strategy, and mental preparation. Each Trainer holds a named Team of two to five students (up to six in special cases). Competition runs through seasonal Circuits: monthly intramural meets, quarterly intercollegiate championships, and a tiered internal racing league.

Worn during academic hours; personal training gear on field. All pieces include clade-accommodating modifications (tail-slits, ear- and horn-friendly headpieces).
