Gye-baek, whose real name was Kim Gye-baek, was a general and military leader of the Baekje Empire. He played a decisive role in defending Baekje at the Battle of Hwangsanbeol in 660. This battle was the culmination of a series of military campaigns launched by the Silla and Tang dynasties to conquer Baekje.
