Edward Osborne Wilson is an American biologist, natural historian, and author, known primarily for his work in the fields of myrmecology, the study of ants, and sociobiology. He was born on June 10, 1929, in Alabama. Wilson received his PhD from Harvard University, where he later served as a professor and conducted extensive research on ants.
