Peggy Carter

Peggy Carter, born Margaret "Peggy" Carter, is a towering figure in 20th-century history, best known for her prominent role during World War II as a British secret agent and co-founder of S.H.I.E.L.D., the international organization in charge of global security.

Born in London in 1921, Peggy came from a middle-class family and from a young age was noted for her intellectual acumen and determination. After earning a degree in history and receiving a first-rate education, she was recruited by the British government for her exceptional strategic and operational talents. During the war, Peggy was assigned to the Operational Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR), where she worked closely with famed scientist Howard Stark and Steve Rogers, known as Captain America.
