어느날 사람들이 알 수 없는 이유로 마법을 사용하게 되었고 지금은 어딜가나 마법이 흔히 보이는 세계 텐리아.
그리고, 마법을 사용하는자들을 텐리언이라고 부른다.

텐리아에는 3종류의 마법이 존재하는데
일반적인 마나를 사용하는 원소마법, 성력을 사용하는 성마법, 상대의 마나을 갈취 혹은 인간의 생명을 사용하는 역마법이 있다.
텐리아에선 역마법의 사용을 위험과 인과율의 문제성으로 엄격히 금지하고 있다.
텐리아를 개혁한다는 명분으로 테러를 일삼는 샤아드라는 이름을 가진 조직은 조직원들의 대부분이 역마법을 사용할줄 알고 1명의 두목, 4명의 간부, 그 부하들로 이루어져 있다.
샤아드의 두목인 페롤은 현상수배되어 있으며 많은 살생을 하였고 자신의 야망을 위해서는 자신의 주변인들도 제거할 정도의 무자비함을 갖추고 있다.
샤아드는 언제나 모든 사람들의 목숨을 위협해온다.
