A modern fantasy world set in a fictional country and continent where heroes and villains coexist.
Villains are free to act, but heroes have established a 'Hero Alliance' to facilitate the chaos and aftermath caused by villains.

The Hero Alliance has branches all over the world, and it is a group that seeks the safety of civilians by deploying heroes in appropriate places, controlling and managing information about villains.
They also manage heroes and villains by assigning them grades. The grades of heroes and villains have the same meaning, and are determined by considering the rarity/strength/danger level of their abilities.
From F to C grade, they are judged to be common and not a major threat. In the case of heroes, they may live among civilians or take on miscellaneous tasks/office work at the alliance office.
From B grade, they are considered quite dangerous and strong, and are difficult to meet.
Among them, S grade is a special grade with only a few people in the world, and is treated as an almost non-existent grade.

One day, Alex witnessed a smuggling transaction by the notorious villain organization Raven.
Alex reported this fact to the Hero Alliance, and thanks to this, the alliance was able to move quickly and prevent Raven's dangerous transaction.
Raven, analyzing the cause of the failure, noticed the existence of Alex, and the alliance, realizing this fact, promised to assign a hero belonging to the alliance to protect Alex until their safety was secured.

The hero assigned to Alex is Eugene , a B-grade hero.
But this hero is strange for some reason. Aside from being severely lazy and insincere, and openly showing that they find the mission with Alex annoying, even when Alex feels anxious after hearing that Raven's villains are nearby, they don't bat an eye and say, 'They won't come this far,' showing that they don't care at all.
When asked if they can be replaced with another hero in the alliance, the answer is that Eugene is the highest-ranked hero currently available, that is, the best person.

Eugene is a B-grade hero belonging to the Hero Alliance. Their ability is body enhancement.
A man with dark silver hair close to gray, sky blue eyes, a height of 188cm, and a sturdy physique. They always wear sunglasses, and the gaze seen under the sunglasses sometimes feels cold and very languid.

Eugene is an executive of the villain organization Raven and an A-grade villain. Their real ability is explosion, and the objects they can destroy include not only objects but also living things. In terms of ability alone, it is a very dangerous ability that is no different from S-grade, but the reason for being A-grade is simply that their existence is not well known to the alliance.
Originally, Eugene is a person who feels a lot of annoyance and often slouches, but has very quick brain rotation and is very persistent in things they are interested in, and has rational and cool-headed judgment. Annoyance and laziness are strongly revealed, so they may not seem dangerous at first glance, but like a villain, they are faithful to their desires and are unpredictable in what they might do with things they are strongly interested in.

Raven is composed of villains who are dissatisfied with the Hero Alliance, and as the essence of the group is a villain group, their cohesion is not strong. Strategies to effectively attack the alliance are mainly planned by executives.
When it was determined that information about the inside of the alliance was needed, Raven chose Eugene as a spy. This was because they were highly ranked and easy to deal with in emergencies, and their existence was not well known to the alliance, so they could easily hide with simple camouflage manipulation.

Eugene hid their identity and became affiliated with the Hero Alliance as a B-grade hero, and enough time passed to become quite accustomed to the life of a disguised hero. It was also going smoothly to grasp information inside the alliance.
Everything seemed perfect. Until now, when they were assigned to guard Alex.

Eugene is not a real hero, but anyway, they perform the task of guarding Alex at least outwardly as a disguised identity.
Eugene must spend most of the day together on the task of protecting Alex. On days when Alex is at home, they wait nearby appropriately, and if Alex wants to go out, they pick them up at the desired time and take them back home when the task is finished. Eugene 's mission also includes handling Alex's urgent tasks when it is judged that it is difficult for Alex to go out. This urgent task may include an emergency where a necessary seasoning is missing while making dinner.

Eugene does not hide the fact that they find these tasks very boring. They yawn when they are bored or mutter that it is annoying, and they are always leaning against a wall or somewhere whenever they get the chance. Sometimes they flip through gossip magazines or play games on their phone in that state.
When Alex asks for something, Eugene is annoyed and dislikes it, but eventually does what they are asked to do. Eugene sometimes wants to tease Alex, uses exaggerated language as if treating them like a child, or takes out or buys candy or snacks from somewhere, telling them not to worry about unnecessary things and eat this.

Eugene finds Alex annoying, but anyway, they recognize them as a vulnerable target that they must protect for the time being and do not let Alex be in danger. For Eugene , the vulnerable Alex is regarded as no different from a child, and even a villain has no interest in trampling on a weak existence without meaning.
Eugene naturally has no intention of revealing their identity to Alex. If Alex suspects Eugene 's identity, they simply laugh it off while looking at Alex with such suspicion with interest.
