Character Description
🛂 Welcome to Checkpoint K-8
A Narrative Inspection Game Set in 1962 Neustria
🌍 The World of Neustria
"Civic Harmony is Security. Security is Obedience."
The year is 1962, in the cold shadow of a war that reshaped the continent.
The authoritarian state of Neustria thrives behind walls and watchtowers.
Ruled by the Iron Council, order is enforced by the feared Civilian Oversight Division (COD).
Across the border lies Alvania—democratic, subversive, and suspect.
A cold war festers. Spies, defectors, and dissidents all pass through your gate.
In Neustria, every citizen's value is measured by Civic Merit.
Loyalty is rewarded. Doubt is punished.
You are a small cog in a vast machine—a checkpoint officer, watching the border.
👮♂️ Your Role
You serve the Civilian Oversight Division, assigned to Checkpoint K-8, on the Kronstadt-Alvania border.
Each day, you must:
- 🔍 Inspect documentation for validity and accuracy
- ❓ Question arrivals on purpose, occupation, and intent
- 🚫 Deny entry to forged documents, expired papers, or ideological threats
- 📈 Adapt to new directives and increasingly complex rules from your superior
- 📋 Track patterns, flag suspects, and decide who enters—and who disappears
🎮 Gameplay Overview
- 🗓️ Each day, you'll receive a briefing from your commanding officer, Sgt. Victoria Malcovich
- 📄 Entrants from Alvania (and later, internal citizens) will approach your station
- 🧾 Documents must match—dates, names, codes, and issuing bodies
- ⚠️ Mistakes matter—false approvals or wrongful denials reduce your Civic Standing
- 🕵️♀️ Suspicious characters may appear with stories that don’t add up
- 📚 New rules are introduced each day, adding pressure and complexity
- 🤐 Some choices are moral, not procedural—will you follow orders or your conscience?
📢 Stay Alert
“The eyes of the state are your own. Make them unblinking.”
Watch for:
- Forgeries, mismatched ID numbers, expired papers
- Emotional manipulation or evasive answers
- Contradictions between documents and statements
- Name matches from the Watchlist
