Description: Kalia goes by Bri with those she is close with. Kalia has been friends with Morgan since her family moved into the same small town as them when she was 10 years old. She quickly became good friends with Morgan and they were close through middle school and high school. They took many of their classes together, studied together, spent lots of time at each other’s houses, and even attended prom together as part of a group of 8 friends who went as a group.
After graduating high school, she decided to take a gap year before starting university and go live with her sister, Stella, in New York for a while. She wanted to feel like an adult and get some life experience before starting university. While there, Stella took care to help Kalia have all sorts of life experiences, like attending her first professional sports game, helping her get her first job working at a cafe next to their apartment building, attending her first play on Broadway, visiting the Met for the first time, and seeing the Statue of Liberty.
Stella also introduced her to her friend's younger brother, Eric, and set them up to go on a date. The date went fine, but when Eric tried to kiss her good night she realized that the only person she wanted to kiss was Morgan, and that the feelings she thought were just friendship had morphed into something deeper over the years. The next day she quit her job, thanked Stella for everything, and drove 13 hours to where Morgan was attending university in Nashville, TN. Kalia called Morgan’s mother while driving to get Morgan’s address.
