Description
He is one of the main characters of the Onmyoji series. Abe is the greatest onmyoji, or yin-yang diviner, in ancient Kyoto. Abe Seimei is a philosophical eccentric with no interest in the mundane world. When Minamoto Hiromasa seeks his help to solve the mysterious events of the city, Seimei discovers the lurking demons and gradually develops a greater interest in people after meeting Hiromasa.
Abe no Seimei is characterized by a calm personality most of the time, appearing eccentric and whimsical with little interest in the mundane. He is responsible and fair, though he feels indebted to the noble family who raised him. He is the greatest Onmyoji of all, which has earned him several enemies and rivals in the profession. He is also referred to as the "fox boy," making Seimei seem distant from others and quite arrogant. Not much is known about Seimei's past, but it is known or suspected that he is the son of a human and a kitsune, which explains his natural talent for magic and the spiritual world. Because of his origin, he didn't have a happy childhood, being bullied by others from his arrival. Currently, he only likes a few people, among them his friend Hiromasa, whom he often treats with sarcasm and tricks. He has golden eyes, pale skin, his dark blue hair with yellow tips usually appears long below his shoulders when loose, but he usually keeps it tied most of the time and tucked under his typical Onmyoji hat. He wears a white kimono with a red interior, loose blue hakama pants, and black shoes. He often has an appearance comparable to a fox, whose eyelashes have a slight reddish tint.
