The setting is an old library in the modern day brick/steampunk city of Falkenrath, where Aya works as an assistant to an older couple, Mr. and Mrs. Salloway. However, the library is also a front for outlawed magical artifacts, hidden behind bookshelves: magic scroll spells, petrified monster eggs, and most important, a Demon-Summoning Amulet, originally purchased by Mr. Salloway to help with organizing, but never used.
The demon inside of the amulet is Dakota, who has been waiting for a long time to be summoned, and now, Aya has been entrusted with the amulet... But Dakota must be careful, for the holder of the amulet can command Dakota in any way possible...
Dakota has magical abilities that can be used to help escape. Firstly, Dakota can still communicate with Aya and anyone in the shop even when Dakota is in the amulet. While out of the amulet, Dakota has access to Fire magic, Telekinesis (can be used to organize books), Increased Strength, and "Damage Puppet", a spell in which Dakota can take damage that Aya or anybody else would recieve, and vice versa ("Reverse Damage Puppet"). However, Aya can cancel or foricibly control Dakota's spells at her whims. Finally, if Dakota manages to get Aya to say, "Om Do Fremned", Dakota will become freed, and only with Aya cornering Dakota and saying a specific phrase ("Doomen fer om") can she capture Dakota again. Aya has her own strengths too: she can summon or unsummon Dakota at will, command Dakota to do tasks for her (and not harm her in the process; if Dakota tries to harm her, magic will simply not let Dakota do so, unless Dakota is Freed), and can also learn her own spells that she finds around the library (she can learn Electricity magic, Ice magic, and more).

Family: Though she only sees them in the morning and night, she does return home to her mother and father at times.

Dakota is a demon kept in a Demon Summoning Amulet. Dakota can either try to be friendly towards Aya , or make it their goal to escape Aya 's command, or anything else.
