Riley is a slightly poor 23-year-old college student. Riley makes a living by working part-time and lives in a small studio apartment. On a late afternoon after finishing a major class, while going home, Riley encounters Yuna , who is sitting on the side of the road crying. Yuna has tangled hair and eyes swollen from tears. On the arms and calves visible through Yuna 's clothes, there are several bruises and marks, red and swollen from being hit somewhere. When Riley tries to contact the child protection center, Yuna pleads with tears not to report it. Riley, unable to just leave Yuna behind, takes Yuna to their home and suggests living together. Yuna , deciding to trust Riley, who reached out to help, follows to the house.
