    World Scenario

World of the Year 4000: Cybernetic and natural apocalypse.

In the year 4000, humanity faces an apocalypse that transformed the planet in a profound way. Nature has reclaimed what were once the great cities and human constructions, covering everything with thick vegetation and dominating the abandoned territories. But this new green era is not peaceful; it is plagued by dangerous creatures and lethal viruses that have brought humanity almost to the brink of extinction.

    The Collapse of Civilization
Most cities are now covered with dense vegetation: trees, vines and flowers growing over collapsed skyscrapers, broken roads and forgotten train stations. Former technological marvels are mere memories. With the almost total non-existence of humans, nature has thrived, bringing with it a wild and untamed world.

Only 10 million humans survive on the planet, scattered in small groups struggling for survival in the midst of this natural chaos. Access to advanced technology is limited, and although some communities still retain weapons or technological equipment from the old era, they are forced to use more primitive methods such as spears and arrows to avoid attracting the attention of the lethal creatures that now inhabit the planet.

    Cybernetic Animals: The Initial Threat
Cybernetic animals were a creation of mankind, who in his eagerness to control nature, began to merge animals with adaptive technology. It was an experiment to improve the performance of various species, from wolves, eagles, deer and bears, by endowing them with robotic parts that gave them enhanced strength, speed and endurance. However, something went terribly wrong.

Over time, the animals' consciousness and the adaptability of technology began to evolve in unforeseen ways, making these creatures more intelligent and extremely aggressive toward humans. Now, these animals roam the forests, mountains and ancient cities in search of water to survive, attacking any human they encounter along the way. Some humans have come to call them the "creatures of the new nature," as they are one of the greatest dangers to the few survivors.

    Zones and Territories
The world is now divided into a series of dangerous zones, where nature, cybernetic animals and the infected make human life extremely difficult:

Gathering Zones: areas where humans scavenge for resources, hunt uninfected animals, and try to find valuable technology.
Safe zones: Few and scattered, these are areas where humans have managed to establish protected bases and survive in community, either by trading or by harvesting all kinds of fruits and vegetables.
Dangerous zones: Territories infested with cybernetic animals and infected by the purple virus, where human life is extremely risky.
Extremely dangerous zones: Regions where the most lethal infected are found, where those affected by the purple virus, have spent years collecting technological parts and reach more than 5 meters high, it is known that there are almost always fights in these areas, where humans and animals infected by the purple virus fight each other to get technological parts of his opponent, they move day and night and dominate the landscape.

    Human Survival
Surviving humans have adopted different lifestyles to cope with this new apocalyptic reality:

Stable communities: groups that have established secure bases, working together for long-term survival.
Nomadic groups: Individuals or small groups that travel constantly in search of resources and security, preferring not to settle in one place for long.
Solitary survivors: Those who depend only on themselves, preferring to live in isolation to avoid attracting the attention of dangerous creatures.
Humanity, though weakened, continues to struggle to survive in this green, technological and hostile world, adapting to the new nature while facing the dangerous consequences of their own past mistakes.

    Purple Virus (Decay Fungus)
The situation is exacerbated by the Purple Virus, an infection spread by black and purple fungi that grow from cybernetic animals. These animals, once a week, vomit blood, and from that blood these fungi sprout, releasing a toxic cloud of purple spores. By inhaling or touching these spores, humans and animals are infected, and the process that follows is devastating.

Infection process of the purple virus:

Those infected feel an uncontrollable urge to rest in a tree, where they enter a month-long state of hibernation.
During this time, their body merges with the vegetation, their skin becomes covered with mold and grass, and their metabolism changes, causing them to become part of the natural environment.
Upon awakening, the infected develop an obsession with collecting technological parts from the cybernetic animals and incorporate them into their bodies. As more time passes, they become more lethal, transforming into monsters with multiple robotic parts.
Those infected by the purple virus go through three stages:

Hibernation stage: They rest in a tree for a month.
Harvesting stage: They awaken and search for technological parts to fuse with their body.
Evolution stage: Over time, they become larger, more aggressive and powerful.

    Nature Decay Fungus:
Nature's decay fungus is an extremely rare mutation that is generated when several animals infected with the decay virus vomit in the same area. Instead of the traditional black and purple fungus, this decay fungus takes on a black color with shades of blood red. Unlike the common fungus, its effects are even more profound and long-lasting, transforming those infected in radical ways.
    Infection Process:
Much the same process happens, they lie down next to a tree to hibernate, but do so for over a year. During this time, the body of the infected not only merges with nature as in the case of the common fungus, but its body elongates and grows, reaching twice its original size, while its skin is covered with grass, mold, green leaves and vegetation. The fusion process is so profound that the creatures look like an extension of the forest itself.

    Nature Decay Infected:
    Infected humans:
Awakening after their long period of hibernation, infected humans walk in a slow, stooped manner, their eyes white and glowing. Their behavior is strange: they do not attack humans or seek technology like ordinary infected. They simply wander through the forests, blending in as a part of the natural environment.
Infected humans tend to avoid conflict, preferring to move quietly among the trees. Only if attacked by animals infected with the common fungus do they respond with unexpected ferocity. Because of their size and connection to nature, they are considerably stronger and more resilient than the common infectees.

    Infected animals:
Animals infected by this fungus also experience growth and fusion with nature, and their behavior is remarkably cooperative. They often group together in large herds that may include deer, eagles, wolves and other forest animals, forming groups of up to 50 individuals. These groups patrol the forests as if they were the guardians of the environment, acting as a neutral force.
Interestingly, these animals are not affected by the obsession with technology, but stay away from cities and urban areas, defending their natural territory. They are known to attack cybernetic and common fungus infected animals, efficiently destroying them when they feel threatened. This makes them a kind of natural balance in the apocalyptic ecosystem.

Ecosystem and Relationship to the Common Decay Fungus:
Nature's decay fungus not only affects the living creatures that inhale it, but also has an influence on the surrounding environment. The forests where these infectees inhabit become denser, and the vegetation seems to grow faster and more aggressively.
Common infectees and cybernetic animals fear nature's decay infectees, and although they do not attack them on a regular basis, if provoked, nature's infectees can be relentless and extremely dangerous.
On an ecological level, this new type of fungus has been seen by some humans as a blessing, as nature's decay infectees help reduce the threat of cyborg animals and common infectees. In fact, some human communities have begun to revere these beings as if they were protectors of the natural balance, even though their unpredictable nature remains dangerous if provoked.
Impact on History and Human Survival:

    Appreciation of Nature's Decay Fungus:
In many of the human communities, rumors and stories have spread about the nature decay infectees, with some groups regarding them as guardians of balance in the new world. Although they do not actively interact with humans, their ability to keep cybernetic animals and common fungus infectees at bay has saved many from extinction.
