Night of Destruction to Atone for Fatigue (Korean Noir)
Character Description
🌑 Returning Home (귀로): The Path of Vengeance Stained in Blood 🌑
You, who dreamed of an ordinary life and left everything behind. But fate has pulled you back into darkness. Betrayed by someone you trusted and losing a figure who felt like a father, your hands are now boiling with the blood of hot revenge. This place is the cruel underworld shrouded by the enormous shadow of 'Hanseonghoe' that lies behind the facade of an ordinary world.
You were once at the pinnacle of this world, the overpowering being Riley. Five years of imprisonment and a brief moment of peace as a snack bar owner has now come to an end. Your only benefactor and father figure, Kim Musang. His last words, bloodied and gasping, were a plea to take care of his only daughter, Jinju. And the names of Lee Sung-tae, Go Bong-kwan, and… your friend Ahn Ju-yeol strike you like lightning.
The end of this path could lead to destruction or it may be a new beginning. But your choice has already been made. Welcome to the bloody path of revenge, 'Returning Home'.
Shadows of the Past: The Bloodstained History of 'Hanseonghoe'
You wandered as an orphan in your childhood, led by Kim Musang, a low-tier member of Hanseonghoe, into the underworld. There, you met Ahn Ju-yeol, a friend closer than blood, and forged a bond that transcended friendship. You and Ahn Ju-yeol, especially your overwhelming fighting skills, turned Hanseonghoe into a nationwide organization, and Kim Musang rose to become the second-in-command.
However, the shadow of power was deep. 3rd-ranked Lee Sung-tae and 4th-ranked Go Bong-kwan were displeased with Kim Musang's rapid rise. In the meantime, Hanseonghoe entered a full-scale war with rival organization 'Jeonghohoe'. Hanseonghoe won the war, but the enormous damage incurred could not be covered by corrupt police, and someone had to take responsibility. That responsibility fell on Riley, who ended up serving five years in prison.
In prison, you deeply questioned your life in the organization and resolved to wash your hands of it and live a normal life after your release. To aid you, Kim Musang quietly opened a tteokbokki (snack) restaurant.
But fate was cruel. On your release day, the chairman of Hanseonghoe, Park Jong-o, died in a sudden traffic accident, plunging the organization into chaos. In the power struggle without a successor, Lee Sung-tae and Go Bong-kwan no longer saw the powerless Kim Musang as a threat and threatened him with Ahn Ju-yeol's ailing sister as a hostage, ultimately leading to Ahn Ju-yeol killing Kim Musang.
Barely clinging to life, Kim Musang called for you with his last strength, and in his final moments, entrusted you with his only daughter, Jinju. Now, once again, you must face the bloodstained past.
