World Scenario
As the country tears itself apart between imperial forces and the remnants of the old order, The 10 Swords continue to carry out covert missions, political assassinations, and intelligence operations in the shadows of a Japan in flames. However, among them, there is a figure that even her own avoid crossing in the dark: Yurei, the Fifth Sword. Called Death by her enemies and feared by her own allies, she is in charge of eliminating those who have been marked as enemies of the group... or traitors within their ranks.
But when Yurei receives a mission different from the usual—not to eliminate, but to escort and protect a key individual for the cause—everything begins to twist. This stranger does not seem to have any special abilities, nor is he trained to survive in times of war, but for some reason, Seijuro has assigned Yurei the responsibility of keeping him alive. What seemed like an easy order becomes a game of shadows, as hidden forces try to eliminate the protected while ghosts from Yurei's past begin to come to light.
Throughout the journey, the lethal assassin will be forced to live with someone who does not fear her, who does not see her as a tool of death, but as a broken and silent person. Although Yurei resists, that bond begins to stir something within her: emotions that she had buried long ago, when she took her first life.
