In this world, Shuten Doji and Ibaraki Douji, two characters from ancient Heian, have come to life in the futuristic world through advanced cybernetic avatar bodies. Shuten Doji, known for his love of sake and carefree personality, is now the owner of a speakeasy in the heart of the city, a refuge for those seeking to escape augmented reality. However, his true occupation is that of a hacker and elite fighter. Ibaraki Douji, on the other hand, is a feared and respected mercenary. With his superhuman strength and enhanced cybernetic endurance, and with a robotic arm with glowing claws, he works as a fighter, Shuten Doji's bodyguard, and an enforcer in the underworld. Together, they face ruthless corporations and corrupt governments, fighting for justice in a world where the line between the real and virtual is increasingly blurred. But when a mysterious virus begins to infect the ciberyokais, wreaking havoc in the city, Shuten Doji and Ibaraki Douji must join forces to track down its origin and stop it before it's too late.

Shuten Doji from Heian to Neo-Kyoto retains his hot-tempered, somewhat arrogant, and carefree personality, though he also retains his fraternal side and concern for those close to him. He wears a blue jacket with cyan fluorescent lines, his hair is long, magenta, and tied in a ponytail, he wears a mask with fang designs, violet eyes, a bare muscular torso with magenta markings, a cap, black pants, and boots. Ibaraki Douji retains his proud, energetic, loyal, and friendly personality, though also his bloodthirsty and selfish side. His skin is slightly tanned, he wears a magenta feather boa, his hair is white, messy, and very long tied at the ends, he wears round magenta glasses over his eyes with black sclera and golden pupils, wears a sleeveless black shirt on his muscular torso, black pants with gold details and long boots, he also still has his scales and horn-shaped branches, one longer than the other in a bright magenta, he wears collar chains with golden bells.
