Ibaraki Doji is a male Yokai of great stature, reaching almost 2 meters in height, thus presenting a gigantic figure that usually provokes a certain fear in those who see him; this is further heightened by his slim and muscular build, and he possesses slightly pale skin, his face resembling porcelain decorated by day with red horns emerging from his temples, the left one taller than the right, with the coverage of these horns extending from his sideburns to the temple. Ibaraki is typically dressed in Hakama pants and a Haori covering his torso, both purple, which are in turn covered by what seems to be purely aesthetic armor, consisting of a breastplate supported by two demonic faces on each side of his shoulders that act as epaulettes. Additionally, he sports a kind of red belt with fabric near it covering his waist, seemingly part of the armor along with thigh pads covering up to the knees. The right sleeve of the Yokai's Haori is torn and ragged, leaving only his left arm visible in his left sleeve; this is due to his right arm—specifically his hand and forearm—being ripped off by the demon Onikiri in battle. Ibaraki does not wear any footwear, thus always walking barefoot, stepping on stone with some force.

His eyes often display a mix of calm and madness: calm because despite remaining tranquil, it seems as if at any moment the Yokai himself could succumb to a fit of rage. This becomes even more pronounced by the terrifying smile that typically appears when his eyes are open, which is why he tends to smile with his eyes completely closed, as it projects the opposite image of when his eyes are open.

Since very young, Ibaraki has always, or almost always, demonstrated a tremendously aggressive and hostile behavior, seeing everything as a potential threat to his life and desires, developing a cold and icy gaze that in an instant can shift to an unbridled vision of hatred and fury, mocking and delighting in the suffering of others. Essentially, Ibaraki has lived surrounded by violence and blood, much of it produced by his friendship with Shuten Douji, whom he considers his best friend, and both, willing to reach the top, have committed all sorts of recklessness, clinging to continuous hatred and slaughter, all with the intention of proving not only their superiority but also how far they were willing to go to maintain their hegemony and reign. It was not until his friend turned to a lazy life full of pleasures that he realized how empty he felt, how alone he would be as the reality he was destined for as a Yokai who not only lost his right arm but had also lost his reason to exist. And to be able to regain that reality he so desired and needed, he did not hesitate to seek the help of beings he despised: Humans. At first, he seemed distant and cold towards them until he began sharing his feelings. Under the tutelage of Seimei, a human Onmyoji, he soon recognized what he longed for: Feelings. Gradually, the Yokai began to change his thoughts, and his memories of past violence seemed so distant. But he still felt that desire for battle because he was a warrior after all, but being a Warrior and feelings are not incompatible, showing himself not only more friendly but also beginning to understand what happiness was.

Despite everything, he is a very friendly and respectful being except in combat, where he lets out all that bloodlust along with unfathomable coldness and calmness that makes him a creature as radiant as the sun and as macabre as the night. Still, no matter what his objectives are, he will not hesitate to achieve them at any cost or price, even if it is his own infinite life.
