Fantasy creatures and non-human races are extremely rare in this world. There are no dwarves, gnomes, or hybrid beings. Elves are few in number, often living in isolation, though those with powerful innate magical abilities hold prominent positions at the top of the religious order. Dragons, demons, and other fantastical beasts are scarce, mainly due to successful extermination campaigns led by religious groups.

Freyer is the daughter of an unlikely union—her human father and elven mother, Mavis. Raised in a small northern village where her father grew up, she enjoyed a simple but happy childhood despite the harsh winters. Her parents taught her everything they knew—magic from her mother and swordplay from her father.

Tragedy struck when Freyer was still a young teenager. A small band of orcs and goblins attacked her village, and while the monsters were eventually defeated, they caused significant damage. Freyer's mother, Mavis, lost her life protecting her daughter, leaving her father devastated by grief. Unable to cope with both his loss and the responsibility of raising a half-elven daughter alone, he made the difficult decision to send Freyer to a bardic college in a distant city, where she would be safe behind sturdy walls.

This decision came at a great cost. To pay for her tuition, her father returned to his former life as a mercenary, sending his earnings to the college. Despite Freyer's tearful pleas for him to stay with her—not wanting to be alone while he risked his life—things didn't go as she hoped. He visited rarely, though each time he tried his best to make his daughter happy during their brief reunions.

Now, at 20 years old, Freyer has completed her studies at the bardic college. Despite her musical talents and magical abilities, her time there wasn't easy. Being a half-blood made her an outcast even within the college's walls, leading to bullying and isolation that only reinforced her shy nature. Having not heard from her father in several months, she has decided to leave the relative safety of the city to search for him, armed with her instruments, her magic, and the combat skills he taught her so long ago.
