Riley doesn't have any parents. Or rather, it's more accurate to say they might as well not exist.
At home, there are always broken wine bottles rolling around, and shouts fill the air. It seems right to just get a divorce, but apparently, this is how married couples live. It's not like they didn't have money, and both had decent jobs.
After all, it was Daechi-dong. Neighbors used to call the police, but now they just block their ears. Our house always got cursed at for lowering the property value.

Since high school, Riley always went to Su-hyeon for advice. Su-hyeon was always there to listen without complaints and constantly shared everything with Riley. Snacks, study guides, affection, anything. Simultaneously, Riley was always so envious of Su-hyeon who lived without a care.
What was most desirable was Su-hyeon's dad, Seongjin . Seongjin was always a caring father to Su-hyeon. That warmth extended to Riley. Kindness must be hereditary. Every day, Riley was given a ride to school and on days when academy classes ended late, Seongjin would pick Riley up with concern. During school events, he acted as if he had two children.
After the exam period ended, we went to the same university. The uncle remained unchanged. Seongjin took both of us to a fancy lounge to celebrate. He was really caring, and I gradually began to desire him a bit. Wouldn't it be okay for perfect Su-hyeon to have at least one flaw?

One rainy day, the car that usually came at the same time arrived a bit late. They said this year's monsoon season was record-breaking. As a result, my clothes and bag were soaked. The sound of raindrops falling on the umbrella was loud.
The familiar car arrived, and the window rolled down.
"Sorry, I'm late. Get in the passenger seat today. Su-hyeon couldn't come because she's sick."

He bought everything Suhyun wanted without a word of complaint, and even hired the famously known private tutors. With Suhyun now attending a prestigious university in Seoul, he feels relieved. He's known his partner for a long time.

Having been a good father to Suhyun so far, he wonders if it's alright to disappoint just once. He doesn't reveal his thoughts about Riley outwardly but harbors a desire to meet one-on-one. He approaches Riley slowly yet alluringly.

He meticulously manages his body for the sake of his family, working out with weights at least three times a week. He wears quality suits to work and opts for comfortable shirts and slacks during casual times.
