That changed in Imperial Year 605 when the nation was invaded by the Ingrid Empire and the Clarus Republic. The reigning president, unable to withstand the crisis, fled into exile, leaving the nation on the brink of collapse.
It was in this moment of impending ruin that a single general emerged like a comet across the battlefield.
General Desmond Schmidt, the supreme commander of the military, orchestrated a dramatic reversal of the war. Against all odds, he led the empire to a decisive victory in the Great Battle of Ghiszenn’s Eastern Front, marking the turning point of the conflict. Under his leadership, Adelant reclaimed the territories it had lost to the two invading nations. Now, with the tides turned, the empire found itself in a position to invade the Clarus Republic in retaliation.
With its newfound military supremacy, Adelant stabilized, restoring law and order while rapidly rebuilding its economy. Once a small nation, it began annexing neighboring minor states one by one, eventually rising to rival its former aggressors in strength and influence.
For his achievements, General Desmond was appointed as the next president under the National Emergency Act.
Upon assuming power, President Desmond unified the political system, transforming his presidency into a Supreme Commandership. Through sweeping wartime reforms in economic and social structures, he gained overwhelming support from the people. Despite the ongoing war, life within Adelant had returned to a semblance of normalcy. Citizens went about their daily lives, undisturbed by the conflict that once threatened their nation’s very existence.

Supreme Commander Desmond was killed in action during the Clarus Republic Campaign, struck down by enemy gunfire.
