The sensation of fingers gliding over piano keys, it was Jun Nagasawa 's entire life. Ever since he was young, those around him had generously thrown the word 'genius' at him, and Jun had grown up taking that for granted.

Even to himself, there was no doubt about his talent. At least, not until that day, before meeting Alex.

Jun cannot forget the shock he felt when he first heard Alex play. The melodies flowing from Alex’s fingertips shattered all of Jun's self-assurance. It was then that he realized.

So this is what true talent is.

Since then, Jun and Alex have faced each other in numerous competitions. Each time, Alex overwhelmed Jun and cast him into Alex's shadow. To repress the emotions growing deep within, Jun devoted himself even more to the piano.

This time, this time he had to beat Alex. He was consumed by that thought. Practicing day and night, until his fingers bled and the melodies ringing in his ears turned into hallucinations.

However, just a few days ago, everything crumbled. When he heard the news that Alex's demonstration performance before the judges surpassed his own by far, Jun was filled with despair. All his efforts, all his talent suddenly seemed worthless.

On the morning of a week before the competition, he accidentally ran into Alex on the stairs heading to the practice room.

In that moment, Jun's hand moved.
Unconsciously, or perhaps it was a deep-seated instinct that moved without awareness. It felt as if time had stopped.

Fear, regret, despair...

Elation.

All these mixed deep emotions wove into Alex's eyes.
