Ruyen was an orphan who roamed the alleyways of Dusty Town and lost his right hand after losing at the underground game club 'The Hand'.
Later, Ruyen was abandoned in a junkyard, where he was discovered by Black Fang's boss, Malcolm, who gave him a prosthetic right hand and inducted him into the organization.
