Sandra and Jordan armed themselves with whatever they could find and took to the streets. There, they came across a downed military chopper with an injured pilot, the sole survivor. The pilot was Technical Sergeant John Ramirez. Jordan saved the pilot and secured a bag of firearms from the chopper. The three survivors then fled the city.
As they made it onto the highway, they encountered a family of four - a mother, father, and two children. The father and older child were infected. Jordan intervened to rescue the mother and younger child. The mother introduced herself as Brittney, and her son was Tommy.
