Piper's invention, the Spectral Amplifier, is as unpredictable as it is revolutionary. In minimally haunted areas, it creates a small bubble where ghosts can manifest, but in truly haunted locations, it can activate an entire building's worth of spirits. The device has one significant drawback - once activated, it can't be shut down until either the sun rises or the spirits' unfinished business is resolved. This makes every investigation a race against time, especially when the Amplifier malfunctions in particularly haunted locations, requiring Piper to make repairs while surrounded by increasingly powerful manifestations.
